  1. All the posts here are spot on. North slopes, thick brush, not a lot of movement during daylight hours. You have to be willing to sit and glass ALL day. Many times you will only have the bucks visible for 10 minutes in the middle of the day as they move from one shady spot that the sun started hitting to another spot that is out of the sun. Another tactic that bow hunters use is to sit on water or trails leading to water

    Ditching TV?

We had our TV disconnected a few months ago and now just stream netflix and Hulu. The only thing I miss is the local sports and I don't think HD antennas work in remote area's. I despise all the adds on network television, they should be paying us to watch that crap. The services that stream live TV seem to cost as much as the cable and satellite companies that you are trying to avoid. Best advice....ditch all of it and go huntin

    *Update*Cold Springs flood

Of course they are. It's all all their fault, they should have signs on both sides of every wash in Arizona, and New Mexico........

    Hearing Protection

I like this style as well. I usually have them around my neck all day. I can probably count on one hand every time I fired a weapon without hearing protection. Unless you have a silencer ALWAYS use hearing protection.

    Wild Horses

I grew up where these were taken. They don't like to talk about it but this is a huge problem down there. I have a cousin involved in control of these things. They have donkeys, camels horses and water buffalo that are all non native species. The only way that can get them remotely under control is to shoot them from helicopters. You will not find anything on youtube because they have problems with bunny huggers there as well.

    2017 Buffalo House Rock Ranch

I have heard this junk for years. Not worth it to me. If I feel I need another buffalo I will pay to hunt a ranch somewhere. This is not the hunting experience I would want. Thanks for posting.

    Trail Camera Bracket Question

I have been using these. They work great but a lot of money for a bracket. Trying to position a camera without a bracket...pain in the butt!!! http://store.camlockbox.com/camlockbox-heavy-duty-universal-swivel-bracket/

    Electric code

To answer the OP. See table 300.5 of the NEC. There are some options if you GFI protect prior to going underground, best rule of thumb is to to go 18 inches and run in PVC. UF cable sucks and will sooner or later need to be repaired.

    Electric code

If money were no object definitely all plugs on 12 gauge circuits with just a few plugs per circuit. It is nice having the smaller (14) on lights as it is easier to make up and stuff into boxes. With the cost of copper and arc-fault breakers cost will always be an issue

    Digiscoping setup

I am looking for idea's for taking pictures and video's through my spotting scope. I currently use a Swaro STS 85mm with a phone scope adapter. Although I have no problem with the phone phone skope idea, I seem to have a lot of problems with focusing. I think a lot of it is my particular phone as I have seen a lot of great pictures taken with phone skopes. I would like to hear what others are using particularly with manual focusing. Tell me about your setup and maybe include some pictures and distances. Thanks

    Digiscoping setup

I understand that different phones have different abilities. I was thinking more along the lines of a camera specific to this task that is able to be focused manually or has a very good auto-focus that works through the scope.
  17. I am looking for some H1000, I would prefer an 8 pound container and need at least 5 pounds either in a matching lot or a 8 pound container. If anyone has some for sale, or sees it locally in the phoenix area please let me know. Thanks.

    ISO H1000

Thanks for the responses, looks like I have some I will be able to score.
  19. The original poster asked about holding the rifle vs shooting position. In my humble opinion the answer is whatever is comfortable as long as you stick to the same technique every time you will see consistency. If you are shooting long range (600+) you need to be very comfortable and I don't know anyone that shoots their best groups in anything other than prone.

17 year wait = tag of a lifetime

Very cool....that is a bunch of hair.
  21. Fair price for a stainless action. If I wasn't a lefty I would be tempted. Good luck with your sale.

    Trail cameras

I don't see where you could go to wrong at that price point. I have a couple of the BTC5 camera's. 1 was defective in the box but they took it back and replaced it with no hassles.

    Chronograph help

I use the magnetospeed V3 quick and easy. Like Lance said get it close and then compare to what your downrange results tell you. I had to make some adjustments to the last load I was working on as the bullet seemed to be shooting flatter than I expected
