Using 2-way radios while hunting. Legal, ethical or what?
pwrguy replied to Whitesheep's topic in The Campfire
BAZIIINNNGGGAAAAA!!!! Fuuunnny. I have alway's understood it is ok to use in AZ, I know in a lot of other states it is not. -
The owner of Rim Country Guns, Scott Helmer is going to be doing some advertising in the local paper (The Payson Roundup). Those of you that have been around a while probably remember whe pictures from successful hunts were a regular occurrence in the paper, but the last few years not so much. Scott feels that this kind of thing is needed in our local paper so he is going to pay for it to be in there as part of his advertising campaign. I know there are a lot of hunter in this area that have had a lot of success and I'm hoping some of you would be willing to contribute. It doesn't matter if you are a CWT member or not. Drop off your pictures at Rim Country Guns on the Beeline highway or email them to: scott@rimcountryguns.com I know this is kind of commercial in nature, but I'm hoping Amanda doesn't mind. I agree with Scott and would like to keep seeing the pictures back in the paper. He is particularly interested in pictures with young hunters. Also, since I don't think it has been done in a while, how about postiing your pictures of your youth hunters here from the last year or so, no matter where you are from.

Yes, at Rim Country Guns next to Dairy Queen. I'm not sure if he is still going ahead with the advertising campaign, I don't think there was much response, but it would be great if he would. Thanks for all the posts, love seeing them kids in the woods gettin it done.

Tommy reporting from the 'Supreme-has anybody here got out?
pwrguy replied to biglakejake's topic in Fishing
I got out last week for my first tuna trip. Had a great 1-1/2 day trip on the Shogun. The boat did real well landing 101 fish, my buddy and I not so well only landed one each. I caught a nice smaller bluefin and he caught a small yellowtail. The biggest bluefin was probably in the 50 to 60 # range. Total bluefin was 49. I am looking forward to a multi day trip next year to try and hone both my luck an skill -

***This stuff is gone pending pick up***** I have some used archery equipment that I would like to get out of my house. I never seem to be able to find the time to archery hunt any more between work and rifle hunting. I don't think I have picked up the bow in 5 or 6 years. The bow is a 23 plus year old PSE with cables and string that might be original, so I don't think I would shoot this bow without re-cable and string. If anyone is interested in this stuff PM me and I will give it to you. I don't want to piece this stuff out, if you want it you have to take it all, and you have to come and get it in Payson.

I would have to say Verizon as well. Lots of gaps though, I wouldn't want my life to depend on them in some of the back country. You might look at something like SPOT like creed suggested.

Great deal on some well taken care of glass. I would grab them if I were in the market. They will go fast.
-
Great fish Adam, congrats to your boys
-
Good advice. You will do fine, I would concentrate on the area's that have enough cover for archery shots. They are all over that unit and you are not going to have any trouble finding them.

Thats hilarious.

Awesome way to thin em down. -
That's funny right there. Nothing racist about it, that is after all what they were called.

Well...it took almost a year but my new toy has finally arrived. I paid for the stock last summer, and the completed project came in the mail. I hope it shoots as good as it looks This action has been a 7mm WM for a very long time but now it is a 300WM.

What bullets are you useing? So far some 178 Amax (Hornady) and some 190 Sierra match kings. I wonder if I will ever get my hands on the 210 Nosler, but in the mean time I have some 208 Amax and some 200 Accubond to play with. I really had these 200 - 210 grain bullets in mind for this rifle

Oh come on man, they are just interested in your safety

Put 4 3-Shot groups through it today. 1 was 3/8ths at 100. Shows some promise!!!

I think you will come across some rifles that shoot very well that are not free floated. That being said I think the majority of tack drivers have free floating barrells.
