    Check Out This Monster

I don't know how you did that, but I'm quite sure if I saw one on my trail cam, I would find somwhere else to hunt
  2. Ive actually seen them up here by Payson a couple of times, I have even seen one at 6500 feet just east of here. Here is a video I took about a year ago.

December Hunt (Which Day to go)

    Later the better usually!!!
  4. I would love to try the kenetrecs, I have heard great things about them. I will have to wear out my current Danners before I can think about it. I took several pairs of socks to Alaska this year including 1 pair of smartwool. I found it was very helpfull to keep changing socks especially in a wet environment. I saw no difference in my socks, they were all high quality wool blend type socks
  5. wow..this one has been going on a while. I was 13 or 14, feral pig in the Northern Territory of Australia...first big game here...mule deer in unit 23 in my mid 20s...that would be the 80's

Is tihs a Big Black Bear?

I also am no expert, but have seen, and have been told if the ears look real small next to the head it is a larger older bear, those ears look pretty big, so I would have to concur with everyone else.

    Legal question

I don't know, but if it involves government, it almost assuredly involves some sort of permit....we can't have you just picking stuff up from "their" land

Mike, I thought you knew about gravity, I can't believe I trusted you to set up my shot last December

    Alaskan Yukon Moose

Wow, what a long hard hunt. I'm going to attempt to post a couple of pictures from Michael's computer, and then start adding the story below as time permits. I am still stuck in Anchorage until tonight.

    dos cabezas

I have a buddy that I used to hunt in there with a while back. It used to be pretty good, but access is very limited now. They used to let people through the gate, but I'm not sure now. My buddy said numbers of deer were lower, and you had to walk a long way around private property?

    Trail cam pics

I got up over the weekend to change memory cards on one of the trail cams. Have a few more WT starting to come into this spot...might be worth sitting in January if it isn't snowed in. Definitely developing into a promising spot for next August.

    Rifle rest

about 8 times out of 10 I will shoot prone with just my backpack if terrain etc allows. If time and terrain permits, I really prefer rear backpack with front harris bipod for those reach out and touch shots.

    What am I doing wrong???

Thats funny right there. I guess I can add my opinion, which is worth what you are paying for it. Salt can't hurt, it will get them to stop and give you a good picture opportunity most of the time. What baits, salt etc won't do is get deer to travel 5 miles, so the key is good camera placement. If you are getting a lot of pictures of people, and/or predators, it might not be the best place for a camera. I look for area's that are well away from known roads and look for heavily used game trails between water sources and bedding area's. The one camera I have out right now that is producing the best pictures has been in the same spot now for nearly 2 years. It seems to be getting more deer all the time, and I don't really know the reason for that, could just be coincedence and nothing I have done? If I could find a seep in a canyon bottom, that I didn't think anyone else was going to, I would try that as well, however, so far no luck with that. The problem with creek bottoms is there is usually so much water, it is hard to come up with a spot unless you can find a major game trail leading to it. Good luck figuring it out...let me know when you do
