I'd like to start a debate.....about points....
pwrguy replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in The Campfire
That is a 4X4 in my book, as with all whitetail. Eye guards are only excluded as a point on mule deer regardless of scoreable or not. -
I would have to agree with what Amanda said with a couple of thoughts of my own. It is just plain fun to be out there when they are chasin does and glassing all day without passing out of heat exhaustion. To me it is worth the wait, as long as there are other options available such as archery or hunting out of state. I have graduated beyond competing with other hunters for who got the biggest, I am only in competion with myself and the deer. I have had several un-filled December tags over the years and have never been sorry, the only regret was not spending more time hunting when I had them. Last but not least, having 25 other hunters is a lot nicer than 600!!!

Great buck, looks like a double main beam to me? Good luck darting him

I suppose if I could consistently "arrow them couesies" my game plan might change. Having a December rifle tag is a difficult thing to pass on these day's, especially if you don't have a junior to sign your tag to.

Cool pictures!!! The good news is they left your camera's?

1st come gets the spot on any day. A camera or tree stand dont mean anything..........most people that have them out there have serveral out there. Are they going to hunt them all at once at the same time. +1

I have never killed a buck with a bow...but I have the same problem. The only way I'm nocking an arrow is if that thing is wayyyyy over 100 inches...I have waited 5 years for this December tag

I don't know why a 25-06 wouldn't work just fine. I had a remington model 700 in .308 done for my boy when he was 10, we just cut the stock down so it would fit him and had a muzzle break put on to reduce recoil. When he got older I just purchased a full size stock to put on the gun. Been workin great for 8 years, killed a couple of cow elk with it.

Great job!!! Looks like you got a nice archery location there, good luck taggin one of em.

sure makes me wish for an elk tag. Great pictures and great bulls.

This is an interesting string. It is alway's going to boil down to few animals and lots of hunters wanting them, no matter how they rig up the draw. You have to find alternatives if you need to be in the field and yet still want chances at true trophy quality hunts. Try archery, varmit/lion hunting, playing with trail camera's, waterfowl etc. There is alway's something you can do to get outdoors.

Alrighty then...someone has too much time on there hands

Yes...no question...lots of pot farms in the northern units especially 22. I'm going to have to keep a carefull eye out in December while trying to harvest my deer.

Yes sir..that one is gonna be a pig

Nice..where did you say that was
-
yes...same spot. We shall see what happens with the camera in a different location

Well, it was a slow week on this spot. I moved the camera last week and It seems to be getting to much morning sun and tree movement and very little in the way of game. So...I moved it to a different tree, we will see how we do!!!
