In '01 I was not drawn. After a few days I got a call from AZGFD to see if I wanted a bull tag in my 1st choice unit. I thought about it for 1/2 second and took the tag. They had made an error. Keep the faith! "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor???"

I was just told by G&F that they were done running cards Saturday. It's over. Results will be posted Wed or Thursday. Dangit. Congrats to those who drew. Next up....deer!!

thanks...not a good sign. My friend from work put in for unit 9 archery bull (early) as his only choice. 15 points. He got popped. Excited for him!!!

Are all of these recent? In other words, did some of you check this morning or late last night with nothing....and then check recently and have a charge. Is it done?

If I recall correctly last year G&F had a commission meeting (online) on the 23rd regarding the ranch closing for antelope. They had not started the draw at that point and decided that they were going to scrape all of the 19b tags. At the end of the meeting they voted and decided to proceed with the draw. Within 3-4 days the draw and results posting was complete. Do I remember that correctly? If so, they can bang this all out very fast and the card hits will be within a short period of time prior posting.

I just got my speedgoat back from the August 19A archery hunt last year and thought I would share. I was a little worried that the wall pedestal would look goofy but now I couldn't be happier. It was done by Wildlife Images Taxidermy up in Deer Valley (AZ). Good luck to those who drew this year. jdub

Something funny's going on with the dial-in number. This morning when you called and it said "draw results unavailable at this time" if you pushed "1" it would send you to "please hold while your call is transferred". Now it gives you a 'bong'. Odd....

My first goat

I drew a unit 8 early archery bull tag (along with my wife). I haven't hunted this unit for a long time. How bad is the competition? Last year in 3a/3c there were tons of people. Every waterhole had cameras and stands. Stalking was brutual. Glassing was tough....just alot of people out there. I almost witnessed a fistfight. I'm hoping it's not bad. Has anyone hunted unit 8 archery it in the past couple years? Thanks. jdub

Oh, The Score..... I guess I didn't give the score. I know very little about scoring antelope but I had a friend who is a guide and another scorer at a seperate place score him. They both came up with a number within 2/8 of an inch of each other. I'll give you the bigger:) His bases are 6 2/8 - 6 3/8 his 2nd measurements are 6 3/8 and 6 6/8. His measurements above the paddles are 3 7/8 and 3 6/8. Up from there he is 2 6/8 and 2 7/8. His paddles are 5 6/8 and 5 5/8. His lengths are 14 7/8 and 15 1/8. I guess you can get out the calculator. Jeff

As you can see, the entry is back and high. I was shooting down and a quartering away. The arrow poked out the other side just below mid body and just behind the front right leg. I can't say that I always shoot with that precision but this time I did.
