I'm in the same boat. My oldest 4 are done with the youth hunts (youngest being 17 and involved in school stuff). We adopted and I cant wait to take my youngest son hunting. He is 8. He will definitely benefit from them tempering me. I currently take him on hunts where we do not have to sit still or glass for hours. One of the things I have learned is once they get bored, pack it up and do something else. That way he will want to go the next time. My dad loved going to auctions, I went to one when I was 6. I never wanted to go with him again. I've applied that to doing things with my kids. They have a good experience and want to go the next time and the length of their attention span grows.

I heard that this gun saved a guy's life when he was out grizzly hunting. He was out with his brother-in-law and they were attacked by the angry bear. He whipped out his 22 short and shot his brother-in-law in the knee and was able to get away safely. Quality weapon, imo.

I shot my buddies 300 this last week to check his zero. I shot it 2 times and will never shoot it again. I put a suppressor on all my rifles a long time ago. Those 2 rounds confirmed his zero and my hate for recoil. My shoulder ached for 2 days. In my defense my shoulders are being held together with the finest anchors the VA could afford.

This morning in downtown Phoenix I was mugged. I drew my concealed carry Glock 19 and unloaded 12 rounds into the mugger. I then remembered I only had 50 dollars in my wallet. I should have let him have the wallet. to avoid any confusion, this is a joke. Id prob never shoot 12 rounds, 3 at the most.

like Chef said, sock liners are the key, for my feet anyway. I go with the silk ones from REI. Since I started wearing them, I haven't had any hotspots or blisters. They make me feel pretty too. I wear a thinner main sock too. Leukotape is an essential backpack item

I just found ammo for a rifle I'm getting from my uncle but I need dies to fully enjoy shooting it. It is a long shot, but who knows, someone on here might have them and want to make a quick 2 dollars. I found new ones and might be forced to go that route. I have some reloading products that I could swap if interested.

Ammo got here! Next trip is going to be great

Covers do server several purposes. Heat related. 1, For handling. They can burn you or melt your case. 2, Shielding heat that makes heat wave distortion. 3. They look cool. I use them on my Ar15/M16 and Sten but not on my hunting rifles. Extra weight.

My 2 boxes of ammo are scheduled to arrive on Monday. In the next 2 weeks I will be letting lead fly. My uncle is not doing well and he enjoys shooting his old toys. I hope keep shooting his rifles for years to come. Im putting in for Spring Javelina, I want to get one with the 25-20.
