The purge progresses. I have 48 new Razorheads but only 42 bleeders. I believe they weigh 145gr. Does anyone on here use them.

I have my daughters shoot my Remington Mod Seven in a 308. I cut the stock down and had it threaded for a SilencerCo Harvester 30. 3 kids killed with it last year. and 3 the year prior. I also have a Remington 600 in 243, with a youth stock on it. It was one that had been damaged in a car accident, but still shot great. I had it threaded and put a SilencerCo Specwar556 on it. I know the opening appears to be smaller then the bullet but since the can is machinegun rated, it is opened up to 7.5mm. It is really quite and the recoil on it is about like a 223. My nephews killed with it 2 years ago, both with shots over 250 yards. The use of silencers will dramatically increase accuracy because of the reduced muzzle report, reduced recoil, and decreased muzzle flip. It helps take away the flinch factor. The ones I use reduce the sound from 23-34 decibels, which is huge. Some kids I have taken shooting are fine with the recoil but the noise, even with ears is too much. It also reduces recoil, and depending on the can/caliber it can be up to 40% reduction. There is a bill before Congress to take them off of the NFA list. I hope it passes, but if it doesn't it still is worth the time and $ to get one. IMO

I bought this bad boy about 2009-2010 It works great. I killed a bunch of coyotes with it then my oldest son started playing baseball, then wrestling and predator hunting got put aside. It all still works great. Last week I took it out and tried my hand. I thought my Jackinthebox was going to get hammered by a Great Horned Owl. He flew over 2 times then landed in a tree and watched it for about 5 min. The remote operates the call and with the cord the decoy. Here is a link about it http://www.sportsmanssupplyco.com/Foxpro The files can be changed on the call, the USB cable is with it.

Wife almost got her first deer...
cactusjack replied to CatfishKev's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
a buddy of mine shooting at his first deer in Nebraska, I remember watching the arrow sail way over its back. I asked him if he used his first pin. He said yes "the first from the bottom". All the range time went out the window when buck fever hit. -
260k miles, it's almost broken in. These bad boys never die.

In my searching for lost items, I keep turning up "treasures" I have rat holed away. First up I believe this to be a B-Squared barrel vice with 4 bushings. Written on the bushings is-Sport 1.125, Mauser 1.00, Springfield (no numbers) and one with what looks like FD or something. Not sure on that one. This was in a box from an auction. Looks like they discontinued this vise. B-Squared T1515, I think. They have been used, because there is still some resin inside of a couple bushings. 40.00 Then we have 40 fired cases for a 222 Remington and 15 what appears to be factory loaded Remington 50grain PTD Soft Pt. 10.00 SPF Fired 45 Long Colt brass- one box of 50 and another plastic box of 43. come and get it. I found another box of long colt. More to follow. Stay tuned.

Vortex tripod head with 2 plates. I am hunting for the second plate today. I think it is on a pair of binos. Free to good home. I'd prefer it go to someone taking kids out. It kinda has a pan feature but not a true pan head.

Desert Pheasant Recreation "HORRIBLE"
cactusjack replied to Big Browns's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I went back in 2001 or 2002 also. It sucked! I thought it was because I had just gotten out of the Air Force and had just moved back from Nebraska, I thought that I had set the bar too high. Nope apparently it just plain sucked. I had taken kids in Nebraska to a hunt club to get them ready to hunt wild birds, I had expected a similar experience. It wasn't. I will make the drive to Kansas or Neb or fly to the Dakotas before I give those guys another cent. Sorry you got burned. -
Rent or borrow for a weekend before you buy one.

I own 2 popups. A Fleetwood Niagra and a Jumping Jack. They have their advantages but also their disadvantages. When sharing a tent or popup, whenever the other person moves there is too much movement for me to sleep soundly. I even bought 4 scissor jacks for the corners of the Jumping Jack. I prefer my Kodiak Canvas on a cot with a pad.

cactusjack replied to 300RUM's topic in Long Range Shooting
Kenyon, that March 2.5-25x42 looks like it might be the perfect scope. Have you shot it?
