I got this from the web site: Don’t let your big game tag go to waste if you can’t use it Are you unable to use your big game tag this fall because of an unexpected change in plans? You can still put that valuable big game tag to good use. The Arizona Game and Fish Department’s rules allow a couple of options for transferring the tag to give a youngster a thrilling hunting opportunity. A parent, grandparent, or legal guardian can transfer his/her tag to his/her minor child or grandchild. Or, a tag holder can donate their tag to a qualified nonprofit organization that provides hunting opportunities to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Here’s how either option works: Transfer to child: A parent, grandparent or legal guardian holding a big game tag may allow the use of that tag by their minor child or minor grandchild pursuant to the following requirements: * The minor child is 10 to 17 years old on the date of transfer; * The minor child has a vaild hunting or combination license on the date of transfer; * A minor child less than 14 years old has satisfactorily completed a Department-approved hunter education course by the beginning date of the hunt; * The parent or guardian must accompany the child in the field or, if a grandparent allows a minor grandchild to use the grandparent’s permit or tag, the grandparent, parent or the child’s guardian must accompany the child in the field. In either case, the adult must be within 50 yards of the child when the animal is taken. Transfer to nonprofit organization for ill child: A number of qualified nonprofit organizations are dedicated to providing hunting opportunities to children with illnesses with a wish to go hunting. The Tag Transfer program has given many children a chance to go on a hunt-of-a-lifetime in Arizona during a time of need. "To a child that has a terminal or chronic illness, an Arizona big game hunt truly can be the "hunt of a lifetime" said Hunt of a Lifetime Ambassador for Arizona and New Mexico, Nate Medcalf. “What better way to make a difference in a child's life?" To donate your unused big game tag, the following organizations can be contacted to arrange for a donation: * Catch-A-Dream at http://catchadream.org. * Hunt of a Lifetime at www.hoalarizona.org. * Outdoor Experience 4 All at www.outdoorexperienceforall.org. * United Special Sportsmen Alliance at www.childswish.com.

I spoke with Ric yesterday, they are sold. He is sicker than a dog and will mark the sold soon. -
I put up an expensive system after my truck was broken into. If I were to do it again, I would buy several high quality game cameras with infra-red flash.

The Savage 24 is a break-action. I know that when I was looking to get some WSM's cal. done for my Thompson Encore addiction, I was told that many of the custom barrel makers that had made them, wouldn't make anymore of them and even recalled some of the barrels. The pressures were too high and there was too much rear thrust for the break-action. Maybe that is the case here. Anyway, take it to a smith and have him check it to be safe. I have had a rifle blow up in my hands before and it isnt fun. Just sayin.

I start every year with a lion tag. I killed mine on a deer hunt. I figure it's a lottery ticket that lasts one year. -
I have about 8 or 9 different stool I've tried, and am thinking about getting in the stool business. If anybody is interested in seeing these stool samples let me know.

Good idea, sell them before the ban.

not sure what adapter you will need, I dont know which Luepolds you have. Jim White would be a good place to start to find out.

I heard that they are eyeing .270's also. Keep an eye out, they will be next. It's a slippery slope, my friend!

I try to follow the "buy nice or buy twice" rule. I know "nice" means more $ upfront. I've spent more on all the cheap gear in the long run and had it fail at bad times. Just sayin. What type of glassing are you gonna be doing. Standing or sitting? I only sit and glass so I use a shorter tripod. The Slik mini pro combo isnt a bad choice for an entry level tripod if you dont want to stand.

I have used a pair of the Cabela's Elk Hunters, Danner makes them, for 2 seasons and they are holding up great. I do most of my hunting in unit 33 and 37b and only use leather boots. ( cholla is not my friend) I will check out the Meindl's now. You guys have peaked my intrest. How well do the soles hold up to the rocks down in the southern units?

I love my 25-06. Now here comes the however, however I do not use it on elk due to its lack of energy down range. I want to maxamize my odds of dropping an elk with one shot. It is so hard to finally draw a tag nowdays, I dont want to risk losing my elk due to an under powered bullet. Just sayin

I got drawn for Camp Navajo DAV rifle any elk. Congrats to those who got drawn and a big "you'll get'em next time to those who didnt"
-
now if I can just get it to carry my pack for me too! Is there a waiting list to get on?
-
Congrats. Having those future hunters around is the best!

It sounds like me, I live on the phone. Was the truck lifted with black rims and the sticker in the passanger side window?

About 8 years ago I went on a Texas Hog hunt with dogs. That was the wildest hunt I have ever been on. Crawling in the thickest rose thorned bushes with dogs and hog snarling to stick a hog with a knife, is a moment I will never forget. Try to find one of those.

I still use my swarovski 15's and went with the Geovids in the 10 power instead. I keep the 10 on my chest for quick glassing and ranging while my swarovskis sit on my tripod. I love the Geovids, however I dont know if I would buy them again. they only have a 5 year warranty. I didnt do my research before I bought them, I would have just bought the 10 power swarovski and a leica crf 1200 rangefinder. Just sayin.
