    When to upgrade?

I buy one when I have to blame my lousy shot at a deer on something.
  2. If this is a wish list for himself that is great. My list would be more like "which color socks should I ask for?" or "should I ask for the single fold wallet this year?"
  3. I think either Browning is an awesome choice. I like the takedown auto myself. I give my dad a gun of some sort every couple of years. I always seem to get him the ones I want someday.
  4. You were behind me as I slowly drove though the nightmare that has been McQueen Rd. I was driving extra slow looking for the piece of my wife's mirror that was knocked off the last time they moved the "safety" barricades. Me white Toyota Tacoma, you Jeep Cherokee. Looked like you were going fishing.

    jim white 2.5 magnifier

I have had both the Jim White x2.5 and the Swarovski doubler and no longer have them. (sold one and gave one away) I was not happy with the image size or clarity using either. I also had a hard time finding the object I wanted to see through them. I liked the idea of saving weight and space, however I wasn't happy with the function. IMO carrying a spotting scope is the best way to go. There are others that have commented on this in another thread. http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...showtopic=16071

Want to help me win a video competition?

I like it. Great video. The mice getting snagged was great. I remember seeing pics of yours of albino animals, now you had the albino mice!

Inverter Broadhead test #2 Cinder Block

That is an awesome broadhead. I will try some of those when I get back to shooting my bow. I am amazed that your wife let you shoot your cabinets like that.

Help a young hunter get a liver!

I just received an email regarding a 3-D shoot that will be held to help out Sadie by DM Archers. It will be on the 19th of June at the PSE Outdoor Range with a 9:30 shotgun start. There is a $10.00 entry fee and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. As soon as I get a copy of the flier that I can open, I will post a copy of it here. Thank you.

Why do people shy away from Zeiss 15x60's?

One reason I went with Swarovski is the tripod mounting system. I had a pair of Zeiss 10's that I had to use the velcro/strap system and it was hard to keep steady. The second reason is that they cost more and I wanted to look like a big spender.

    Generators

I'll say that either the Yamaha or the Honda are the way to go. Like I said I have the 2 honda 2000 setup. Runs my ac on my trailer just fine. They have tons of hours on them and the only service I have ever done clean a carb that I let the gas gum up in. Other than that change the oil, maybe soon the plugs. Draining the gas is required if you store them. Just sayin.

    Generators

the hondas are the best for camping imo. I bought 2 2000's about 6 years ago with the kit to join them. Since then 5 others in my group who suffered sticker shock when I bought mine have purchased the same setup. The Honda's sip fuel, are quiet and provide stable power (computers, or other electronics) and super light. Being able to charge a battery with the little jumper cable is great too.
  14. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/ma...ng-trips-to-sd/ What is the saying, People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. You vote with your dollars and I will vote with mine. My favorite quotes are San Diego Councilwoman Donna Frye said she believes some Arizona residents are acting out of a misunderstanding. “The City Council did not pass a resolution boycotting Arizona, and I would hope that the good citizens of Arizona understand that and will continue to visit San Diego,” Frye said. School board President Shelia Jackson said that while she was disappointed to hear of people opting to stay away from San Diego, she doesn’t regret her vote. “It’s sad that people would cancel their plans to come here in reaction to that, but I still think we did the right thing,” Jackson said. “Certainly, we know how important tourism is to San Diego, and it wasn’t my intent to impact the tourism trade.”

my L.A. essay about coues deer

It took me a moment to figure out that L.A. meant Language Arts. At first I thought "this isn't that long of an essay". Nice job. Let us know what the teacher thinks.

Help a young hunter get a liver!

I spoke with Derek about the transplant some, if I understand correctly, they have to go to California for the transplant, to a pediatric transplant center. ( I dont remember the hospital) The funds raised are going to help the family live since they will be displaced and taking time off work for about a year. I just wish I had more to give, things are tight. I have an eleven year old daughter myself, and this whole thing breaks my heart. That smile on Sadie's face is just burned into my mind. She must be a great kid.

Great mount. I tried to convince my wife to let me do a similar mount with my mountain lion and have it right as you entered my front door on a plant shelf. She said no!

    San Diego School District

For the last 10 years my family has vacationed at least once a year in California, sometimes 3 times. Every time we have been there we have been amazed at the number of Arizona plates we have seen at the beaches and parks (ie Disneyland, Lego Land, Sea World,.....) I would make an uneducated guess that Arizonans visit California probably 20 times more than Cali-idiots come here. That being said, why would you start a boycott fight with one of your customers. I kinda see it like starting a rock fight with your neighbor when you have a house full of picture windows and he lives in a mud adobe. Just sayin

    Recovered bullets

I recovered a 300 wsm 180 grn Win Silver Ballistic tip from a Coues in Dec 08. It was licking its side, the bullet passed thru its throat, expanded and entered its rib cage on the right side then lodged itself in its left hip socket. He dropped like a sack of spuds. I shot him from 300 yards. My son shot his first deer last Oct with his 243. He double lunged it but the bullet was stuck between the skin and ribs on the other side. That buck went 15 yards and dumped over.
