  1. We had plaster from the late 80's. They chipped all that out. We had Pebble Sheen installed and new glass tile along the water line. Also had new pop ups installed since the floor was torn up. Pebble Sheen is like Pebble tech but not as course. Smoother surface. We went with a white tone with some darker pebbles mixed in.
  2. Postorino Pools in Scottsdale. They did our pool from start to finish in 2 weeks. A little more expensive, but everyone showed up when they were supposed to, cleaned up after themselves and maintained chemicals for about a month afterwards. The owner's wife and I worked at the same high school for 22 years. Reliable people and family owned.

    Mt Ord Murders

It took two weeks to release the information about the location of the bodies; not being found next to their vehicle. This happened the weekend after graduation; but both of these kids were juniors. After 32 years as a high school counselor, teacher, coach and administrator this never gets any easier. I am pretty sure every year throughout my career I have had a student pass away (we had two boys die in an ATV accident this past fall). I work at their high school and it is going to be a tough start to school year. Like most of you guys, I have come across alot of sketchy situations in the back country. I used to always sleep out of my 74 Blazer on the border and never thought much about being shot. Seems less likely to encounter a life threatening situation on Mt. Ord; but like someone said, too many people have lost their morals, values and respect for others. A few years back, right across the highway, I stumbled upon an old timer panning for gold. He had his Ruger pointed right at me when I walked up. His skin was all eaten away - assuming it was from the mercury.

    Land grab

Interesting. I would rather see more wilderness areas and less roads. I wasn't old enough to hunt in the 60's; but I was out alot in the 70's. Not many people had 4 wheel drives and there certainly were no quads or side by sides. But, there were plenty of remote areas to hunt. We need less roads and less development. Private land ownership would be a crap shoot to say the least.

  18. I have some arrows that we never used. These are all older style arrows, but in excellent condition and have never been flown. I know they are older, but I also know some guys still shoot them. They are numbered below to correspond to the pictures and to the index card in the picture. All shaft measurements are from the bottom of the knock groove to the end of the insert or shaft (the last 2 dozen have not been cut). Fraction of what new arrows cost, if you can use them.
