Yes, they will be in the open in Oct. they’ll get into little draws and hide out. Glass early and hope to catch them on the tops of the hills. My buddy is 2 for 2 doing this and going for 3rd hopefully this yr. in the middle of straight up antelope country.

Yeah, Got to looking at the ranger when I got home and it will definitely rub across the hood and such. With the weight of an elk I imagine it would saw right through that.

I’ve thought of just attaching a pully to the roll cage and running the winch cable up over the top and to the back of the ranger. Not sure if it’d work or not.

I always knew my short one was useless. Seriously though, good info. I’ve always just used one more for the dampening purpose. Never really put much thought into it. I’ll have to screw around with my B stinger a little more. Who knows, maybe it’ll get longer.

I was using Avenza maps app on my phone last year and it worked pretty well. Just load the travel maps you need and and u can follow right along as you go and can see if the road ur on is open and what it’s open to.

If I remember correctly rip cord was the worst one with QAD being the best.

I’ve also seen slo-mo videos where the rest will bounce back up and hit the arrow or vane as well. Especially on cheaper rests. Not sure what u have there.
