I don't have any experience with the Bergers but from what I've read they work best jammed into the lands. Since your magazine length won't allow that, you might try a different bullet

How much longer is your magazine length that OAL? I'm wondering if there is too much room for the cartridge to move allowing it to get some momentum when hitting the end of the magazine. Could you seat your bullets longer, closer to magazine length? If not, is there room to fit something in the magazine, maybe a softer material that would soften the impact and allow less movement? I don't have any experience with your specific problem, just throwing out some thoughts.

According to Game & Fish data, the max number of Bonus Points for sheep in the 2012 draw was 23. There were 196 applicants with 23 points and 19 got drawn in the max bp draw and 4 others got drawn in the next draw. The next most successful group of applicants were those with 11 points who drew 8 tags. Also, there was 1 person with 0 points drawn and 3 people with only 1 point drawn. The only group that didn't get a tag were those with 4 bonus points. Every other bonus point group (0-23) got at least 1 tag. Although the odds are quite low, there's still a chance no matter how many bonus points you have.

I often hear city/county/state employees complaining about not getting a raise for years and I question who has gotten a raise in this economy? I work in the private sector and have not only not gotten a raise for years but have continued to get pay cuts. My company had to lay off way over half of the employess we had in 07/08 and those of us who kept our jobs took cuts in our pay and benefits. I'm just thankful that I still have a job. I don't think that there is any arguing that there is a lot of wasteful spending in all levels of our government, and this mayor may not have the right answer but there has to be money to back up the paychecks and if there isn't there have to be cuts somewhere.

If my memory is right, seems like at least a couple of the special tag holders over the last few years have waited till the end of July. I would guess they've got their eyes on some bulls with a lot of promise and are waiting till they are done growing.

Glass bedding is a great way to get better accuracy out of your rifle and can easily be done by the do-it-yourselfer. I was nervous for the first rifle I did but it is pretty easy. There are some good videos on youtube to see how it is done. You can get a kit from a place like Sportsmans Warehouse or online at Brownells that come with everything needed and instructions. I would recommend starting small with just the recoil lug. This is the most important area and starting with just the recoil lug will help you get a feel for it. Then you can move on to other areas if you wish but I bet you will see better accuracy after just bedding the recoil lug and floating the barrel.

I know that this is the common theory on Barnes Bullets but I have first hand experience seeing a bull elk killed at 710 yards with a 180 TSX out of a 300WM. The bull did not take another step.

My brother shoots 180 gr TSX out of his 300 WM and that combo has performed great on 2 different bull elk over 500 yards. He likes it on coues too because it doesn't blow em up like some of the high BC bullets that are popular today. I'm working on finding a load with Barnes new LRX bullet which is designed more like the TTSX so I'm anxious to see how it performs.

Devin does absolutely amazing work. I look at my coues buck every day and think it is the most beautiful mount I've ever seen. Had plenty of other people tell me the same. I hope I get to take another buck to him very soon.

I believe the adapter that vortex sells is the same one sold on this site made by jim white. If you don't like it check out the outdoorsmans adapter. I've been using them on my Garmin Etrex Vista for a few years now and think they're great. Don't have all the roads/trails shown on the USGS quad maps but have the large majority of the water features. Tough to beat free too!!
