The PredatorMasters convention( which is the reason they are all lathered up) this weekend isnt even a competition or hunt for that matter anyway. Its a convention. With some members getting together to go hunt the local areas during that time. Anyone else notice the dogs are getting harder to call right now? Anyone been using howls and coyote vocalization right now with any success? Distress doesnt seem to be peaking there interest as much for me. Figured they are starting or getting ready to rut.

Coupled with the universities attitude of its a football school not a basketball school, opposite what UA was prior to Greg Byrne pushing to change that. If Wichita State or Butler can do it, ASU should. I hope they dont, but they should be able to be at least decent.

I do think alot of areas are just beat up right now as well. Everywhere i have gone looks like a million people have been through. So I think between deer, quail and now the archey and pig, they are cautious for sure. Ive been thinking about trying up high to get on some dogs that probably dont get called much if ever. Always looking for new areas. I can think of a ton of areas(deer and elk hunting spots) Id bet my retirement on that never get called but it seems like a long drive just for coyotes, predators. Might try it anyway.

Well he's a freshman and it showed! Upside is, that these experiances will teach him. I'll still take this year over what we have had in the past. I glassed the buck I shot this year about 1 1/2 miles away with my Vulture 15s. Like bigj23 said, it loses sharpness on edges but the rest is great. For paying about 1/6th the price of the others, they are well worth it!! I cant justify for myself spending $2500 on a pair of optics I might use once or twice a year or not at all if I dont get drawn, only to shoot small or average deer and elk. If I was gettting paid to hunt, that would be a different story. Theyre good quality glass.

You can get the M9s or the M9A1's the Marine Corp uses from Budsgunshop somewhat on a regular basis. But they arent usually cheap.

This is not a debate about breeds of dogs being evil or this and that. But the fact that this young boy needs surgery while the dog that ruined his life has people lining up donating money, a webcam, his own attorney and Joe Arpaio adopting the dog, makes me sick that we live in a world that has its priorities so upside down. Anyone notice the animals get more shy or not? I try and call low once the mule deer hunts end and wait to go higher after all the whitetail hunts in my area. Think the pressure might get to em alil. I have also noticed though how many people think coyotes are stupid and call not watching movement, wind, or how to use a call. To many lazy bad habits educating them as well.

I wouldn't do two different calls at the same time. However, I have switched calls during a set and brought one in. Started out with rabbit in distress and heard them far off but wouldn't come in. I switched to a challenge, and brought him within fifty yards. I could have gotten him if I had a rifle, but I had my bow and didn't have a clear enough shot. Just all depends on the coyote and the situation. What he said. If they are yipping or barking not howling, I've been told you may have been seen. Or that they are letting others know something is not right. Not sure of that though

I think alot of people see coyotes dead on the side of the road or see them trotting across the road and think they are easy to hunt or stupid cause they are everywhere. They're everywhere cause they are smart. I probably educate too
