My grandfather used to kill and see tons of deer just staying in camp. As he got older and legs werent good enough to hike, it was more about just getting out of the house and camping than hunting so he'd stay at camp. Everybody hiking all over the hills made the deer move and that included right through and around camp. I know of more than one time I have gone out killing myself hiking only to be driving back to camp to see some nice buck or bull right next to the road somoeone else just drove down. They go where they want.

I think the point was that, our society is almost completely dictated by lawyers who have there own ambitions ahead of the countries best interest. Not that every single one is bad. Its just too lopsided as the article told, making the whole group(lawyers) look bad.

Byrnes was able to keep Sean Miller and we now have the best recruiting class in college basketball in the nation for 2012, and he has been doing alot of digging for money for the football program to enhance facilities and such and as well as setting up some pre game traditional activities most good football programs have to attract recruits. ASU grad or not, he is the most aggressive AD UofA has had and thats what they need right now. Personally I never thought Dennis Erickson was that great a fit at ASU. I still dont but at least his work is finally showing some. I always thought Danny White would be largely successful and the fickle fan base in Tempe would love it and be more consistent with support. Both these schools have sold themselves short, but that is nothing new to Arizona sports in general.

I knew bringing Kush up would get you Weevils fans all bent out of shape ! No doubt UA sucks this year and you guys may have more success in football than UofA, with exception of the head to head, UofA leads 46-37-1. But contrary to what most Devils fans believe , ASU football isnt a top tier program anymore. ASU should of had a national title long ago. Even a diehard Cats fan like me can admit that.

This is exactly the truth.No excuses here, they just plain suck this year. Maybe this mid year firing is the UA finally realizing they have to be serious about the program for it to succeed. Even still I would rather be a losing Wildcat than a Sun Devil whinning about the days when Frank Kush was still coaching.

So start hunting at night. Hunting isnt done just for our pleasure, its also a tool for animal control and management, which I assumed most people who hunt knew already. This is just like the gun control argument and hysteria that people believe the criminals will obey this law but none of the others that they break. You set restrictions and common sense policies on when and where one can shoot.

Not all units are divided like most in the state are that have mulie and whitetail. 27 has mulies up high and low and the whitetail are starting to do the same so its a mixed bag there. Just depends on what part of the state or unit you are in.

Don't know about the Vipers but the Talons I just bought are way better than the Leupolds Olympics I had. I know I may get flamed for this but I think Leupold is overated(not including rifle scopes, no experiance there) IMHO. I think you'll like Vortex.

Was at Big Lake 2 weeks ago and never saw one single elk the whole drove in and out! Couldnt believe that but the archery hunt had just started as well. Drove the Alpine to Big Lake road a few times and saw nothing. I heard a few bugles close to the lake but not much else. I would think they might still be scattered about and in a year things should be settling down. But who knows.

Thats a good one! Neither of these Arizona teams are going to the Rose Bowl or even close. Heck, UA isnt even going to go .500 this year. I will proclaim it now. The Stoops era in Tucson has to be over this year! He got them out of the Mackovic hole but he did as good as he is gonna get with this team. Can we play in the Sunbelt conference during football season?? I mean geez! They cant even kick field goals. Ok, ok....I'm done whinning now.

This topic hasnt seen anything for awhile so maybe I will revive it. Gamehauler-I have a halfton truck with a smaller V8 and am looking at getting a travel trailer. Any recommendations on any of the ultralites or lite trailers?? Would like something in the 20-26 ft range. Would be used for me, wife and 2 young kids for camping and hunting trips. Dont need fancy accessories just beds, heater, ac, fridge etc. Thanks in advance

I can live with this! I am so burned out on country anymore. Pretty much any and all rock for that matter. KISS, always liked KISS. Anything from Huey Lewis to Sevendust to Traveling Wilburys to Staind to Scorpions, etc.. Radio around here runs the same music into the ground so I like the Sirius as well as IPOD.

Some of the varmint factory loaded ammo is supposed to be super explosvie so it comes apart inside only and doesnt come out the other side for the reasons you are wanting, however alot of them do go through and it usually is a huge mess. I think Firstcoues point of bigger and slower on a cartridge could work. The 110's you loaded though seemed to keep the damage down per that picture. I am going to start trying the same thing but in .243 to see what keeps the damage to a minimum for that caliber.

Anybody in 1 or 27 have any reports? Went to Big Lake and heard a few isolated bugles but didnt see one single elk on the road between the lake and Alpine. Could of been my timing though as it was in the middle of the day everytime when I was going through. Alot more green up there than I thought but still sucks to see it that way. Maybe in 10(more like 20) or more years when I get drawn again it will be better . Good luck to everyone.
