Are they pretty detailed, roads, etc?? Also isnt NatGeo topo maps the same one the Sportsmans Warehouse has on the machine that you print yourself?

Unit 1-Late Bull. Its right about the time it starts to snow but with Arizona weather you never know. Temperature wise it will definetly be cold enough, or least it normally is. Now whether or not we get moisture is a different story. I was just curious what there main driving factor was or anyone who has ever hunted that area or lives close by may see what the trend is that time of year up there.

I was looking for unit 1. May just go down to the forest service tomorrow and take alook at what they can give me(for money of course). Wide world of maps seemed pretty good, may check them out as well. I am going to a Uof A game this Sat. Anyplaces in Tucson I could stop by?

These shows are all about the people in them and getting there face on TV, nothing to do with the animals at all. They epitomize everything Hollywood and everything fake that I can't stand. I used to think these shows were neat but I started seeing there true colors. Dont watch any of them anymore. The only shows I watch anymore are usually the ones about the guns and equipment(Guns and Ammo TV, etc), not hunting. And even those can be lame at times. Whats sad, this is what most non hunters see as our representation !

I think your point is very valid, but as with everything...you take the good with the bad. Hunting is no different. I dont think the post or posters intent was to be boastful or malicious. Just sharing what he saw. Hopefully the bull heals up or someone sticks him good and finishes the deal.

I think my post came across wrong. I am not blaming any one group of specifically. I think the difference between a bullet and arrow, other than the obvious, is that a bullet can kill just by shock to the nervous system from dumping its energy, while an arrow doesnt so much. Thus, an animal maybe being wounded and running off. Am I saying anything bad about archery?? No..absolutely not. I am more referring to those who throw up the "hail mary" shots-wound an animal and may never know it. I have witnessed this in a rifle deer hunt, and the hunter openly admitted. So it applies to all .

What a waste! Always wonder if it was just a shot gone bad or someone just shootin arrows hoping(which is wrong ). I have heard of people shooting animals in the rifle season with arrows healed up sticking out of the animal. A guy I worked with told me of 2 bulls he found dead with arrows in them by Munds Park scouting for the rifle hunt a few years ago.

I have been looking at getting an inexpensive tripod. Specifically a Vangaurd. Anybody have any experiance with them or one they might even sell??

Any rough price estimate on say a 2 mile or so pack out? I got a Late November Bull hunt in Unit 1 and it may be of interest or need. Thanks.

Great....more wasted taxpayer dollars on a program that isn't working and wont. Not to mention nobody in the effected areas support it. So yes, closing off the forest is next to protect them . It just gets more ridiculous by the minute.
