So when glassing, do they bed down or feed on the shady sides of the hills usually or where ever?? They seem to always be on the shaded sides when I see them , making me have to glass into the sun creating distortion in the binoculars and or scope? And are you already in your place before the sun or any light is out?? Thanks in advance for any help and help already given.

Not giving up yet! I will hunt till my last day or till I get one. I was just mentioning that I am not sure that Coues is my cup of tea but I can see more and more as I go out why people do like them. I am starting to comeup with different game plans and have been in some really heavy Coues country. Gonna get up tomorrow and make myself plant in one spot and do some real glassing. I think people get hooked cause they are hard and want vengeneance on there sorry lil butts ! kinda like wanting what you can't have sorta deal. And screw the WAC, its all PAC-10 here!! And were is Illinois program going right now?? Not the direction Sean Millers is!!! We'll give you that game and blown lead !

Yeah, I just can't spend the amount time in the field it takes in order to be more successful at least for the bigger ones anyways. But thats okay. I still like the fact that I can go out and hunt either way. I still have fun. I still just cant get over the fact that they are so much different than Mule deer and I am not talking physical differences. One of these days when my lil ones are bigger and can go with me, than I might start going more dedicated and truly scout and glass some harder and longer. Whoe knows. Again, How much does colder weather affect there behavior?? I dont mean rut time either though.

I am a Mulie(carp : ) hunter who has lived his whole life in the Graham/Greenlee area except my military time. I am hunting my first true dedicated Whitetail hunt in Unit 31 in 2 weeks. I recognize quite a few people on this forum and figured this forum would be of some help. I am thinking about the area around Sand Tanks or the opposite side of Klondyke Rd toward the west side of Tripp Canyon. I hear its a good area but will find out on the 23rd I suppose. I also hear Stockton Pass can become a city during the hunts, I've only varmint called there. Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated. I guess we'll see if I can let go of Mulies only and try something new. Thanks in advance.

Man, you guys got it so right about the big stores. You pay a price for getting it cheaper and my experiance has always been deplorable customer service at the big retail giants. I still dont understand why they still cant teach there staff how to have alittle bit of friendliness and helpfulness towards the people who are making it possible for them to have a job to begin with. I definetly need to start reloading, especially .45 auto .
