I started breaking in the new 26" Criterion while testing some groups with virgin Norma brass, H1000 and the 160 NAB. First range trip found a great node from 67.0-68.0 gr. All well under 1" @ 100 yards with similar POI and velocities ranging from 3010-3050 FPS. The second range trip and a 68.0 charge printed a 1.2" group at 200 yards while setting my hunting zero. I will test seating depths next trip to close the horizontal dispersion and hunt 68.0gr this fall. Once my 200 pieces of virgin Norma are fired and the barrel speeds up, I'll check for the next node up or fine tune the existing. I'll compare RL23 for the heck of it but H1000 looks like it will be tough to beat.

Walmart in Show Low had a 3 box limit, thought I'd bring a few home with me. Dude rang them up and said thirty something dollars.. I respectfully backed out of the sale and left in disbelief. Is 2-3/4" 12 Gauge 7 shot really going for over $10 a box right now, even at Walmart? I see the link to Federal above and it was the same box. Crazy.

Not intentionally being a D here but most water professionals were shocked to see that 1% from a single monsoon event. That is extremely rare. Last week, the Salt River watershed received over half as much water in 4 days as it did in all of the winter runoff for 2021. Verde and Salt watershed precip is at 279% of normal based on the 6/15 - 9/30 season and if just a reasonable amount of the long-term forecast comes through, it could be Arizona's wettest monsoon on record.. That is GREAT news.
