Taken care of. Thank you, cactusjack! Gotta love CWT!

I have 4 boxes on the way but the delivery (exp. Nov 2nd) will be cutting it close to a hunt and I'd like to shoot some in the coming weeks. Is there anyone willing to sell or loan me a box w/$40 of collateral until mine comes in?? I'm in the east valley. Thanks for considering.

I ordered these 2 weeks ago stated as "in stock." The bullets are backordered and they are listed currently as "limited availability." Mine still haven't shipped. I wouldn't count on Optics Planet. I searched really hard for the last 2 weeks and no one else has them in stock. I wonder how many people are in line.

I'll take it while you're in PHX this Saturday. Thx. Pm inbound.

Enjoyed his posts very much. Rest in peace, Ben.

And that is just an estimate. The bullets are backordered, website still has them in stock, one of my least favorite business practices.

I ordered some bullets from them last week that were listed as in stock and they confirmed the order stating it would take 22-34 days to ship. Buyer beware.

AGFD - Don’t forget the non-lead ammo

Anyone have an outdoor shed with AC in the valley that could offer any advice on the building or purchasing of one? Not looking for daily living comfort, but would like to keep the items stored in it in decent shape, perhaps with a window unit? Thanks in advance.

Same target at 200 with taped holes, I took the picture so close so I could see through the tape. Not proud of it but I hadn't cleaned the rifle since last fall before my hunts started. This rifle and load shot these 2 an inch apart at 400 yards last December while doing a quick check outside deer camp. The pic is sideways, but it prints in the same spot as my first group this morning and verified my 2 click down decision before shooting the second group. If there wasn't such a crosswind today, I may have clicked 1 right. Next time out probably.

With archery over I made it out to the range for the first time in a while. Here is that Superformance / 143ELD-X load at 200 yards with a decent crosswind after the rifle had been sitting in the safe for a while. Thinking the group should have been tighter and having not cleaned the rifle in a while, I thoroughly cleaned it on the bench, shot 3 foulers on a different target, moved 2 clicks down, and here are 4, 5 and 6 after cleaning. My final load for my 7# Savage LWH in 6.5CR: Lapua Brass CCI Small Magnum Primer 143gr ELD-X 45.0gr Superformance (43.2gr stated earlier was a previous load) 0.003" Jump 2730 +/- 5 FPS

Sorry I missed this. No, I bought it insulated.

Anyone know the family washed away in Tonto Basin?
CouesPursuit replied to PRDATR's topic in The Campfire
Regardless of cost this is great news for fisherman, hunters, and the residents of Tonto Basin. -
Excellent. Congratulations on an incredible season and buck. Sorry to hear about your duffel bag.

Said it before and I (obviously) will again, F these pro sports and celebrities that think their opinions have some additional value because of the size of their "platform." I have been turning on golf and hockey and not watching just to boost a single rating for the only non-political sports left.

Wish you lived a bit closer for the sweet deal! Good luck with the sale.

My big bolt gun has a micro bastard tapered to the sporter barrel that will not be installed on the new heavier contour barrel it's upgrading to. With several growing kids in the family I'll shoot and hopefully hunt with, I'd like to get the brake fitted on one of my rifles that is better suited for them, a scoped 8# .243 or a 7# 6.5 Creedmor. I'm thinking the kids will progress through my heavy barrel .223 on a bench without a brake prior to getting them into the bigger guns. Then they can decide for louder w/less recoil or vice versa. I'm leaning towards braking the 6.5, warrantying a better elk cartridge and I'll shoot more .243 at coyotes without ear protection. A braked .243 sounds tough to beat for a petite girl though. Curious who braked youth .243's, 6.5 CM's, or similar? Thanks for any input.

I understand the OPs concern but this is seriously a non-issue if you take just a few precautions. Have an ice chest at the truck, bone out the meat, carry the best cuts back first in relation to the gear you can't leave behind. 2.5 miles and 45 minutes is nothing for a young determined hunter. Go shoot another buck!
-
Go kill one of those bucks. When you do, leave behind as much of your gear as you can with the boned out front quarters and other ground cuts left hung in full shade. You will be just fine. Properly boned and cooled meat has a way of lasting just as long as you need while you work hard to get back in and out.
