There were great guys on the zone that did great things, guaranteed. I've hung around and still talk to a few regulars, and have seen you personally jump to help people on this forum many times as well, Del. I didn't say anyone was wrong or a bad person. My post was my observation and a reason I've heard others say as to why they don't post or not as much as like they use to, especially pictures and reports.

I assume you know this, but the ridicule you (and others) advocate to be the norm and repeatedly suggest how online forums "should" be is the reason there is only a 1/2 % of reports. A lot of people don't have the energy or desire to fend off the wolves, and don't want to wear their thick skin around all the time like you (and others) say they should. I'll never forget the AZBZ thread with the guy just trying to thank a stranger for taking a picture of his big Saguaro fish and his wife at the ramp, and how hard he got hammered for just asking if someone out there still had the copy because he lost it or it was never sent. You probably remember and are laughing right now. He probably never posted again. The internet and world is what it is, and to each their own, but there is a reason reports, this and other websites aren't what they used to be. Even through the BS, CWT is still the best site AZ has, extending out through and beyond the southwest. Heck, it's the only one I care to post on. Carry on 👍🏼

This thread seems to have all the answers, just a combination of the increase in population and/or good hunter recruitment and/or new "types" of hunters, better technology, and social media making early season hunts just as desirable, etc. Hunting does seem to be a fad for various reasons right now. Are non-residents causing leftover problems if there is a 10% NR cap? A thought I've shared here before - before it gets taken away entirely, OTC archery should be residents only. AZ protects its draw tags for residents, why not OTC? ($ for now, I know)

Got the chills like I always do when I hear it performed well. Thanks for sharing.

The first person physically at a spot, on any given day, will hunt any spot I visit - even if it is someone else sitting in my treestand over my camera.

Just drove past mile marker 232 southbound 87 (just north of Ord) and a double axle trailer just had a blowout and caused a brush fire on the west side of the highway. We missed it in real time by less than a minute but the fire was moving fast, hope some resources are still around.

No doubt they are better but it was an extra $1k+ at the time. I'll start saving for when the portable dies!

Based on some research of others cooling containers and the concept of hot air rising, I put the AC unit as far and high from the door as I could on a secure stand. A 6 inch hole saw identically matched the accordian-style hose that came with the unit. I drilled the hole to line things up, sealed the hose and added a gable vent to the outside. If a picture would really help let me know. A window unit and especially a mini split would be more efficient but this setup is most secure and works well enough for now. If I utilized this space more often or had more valuable items inside of it I would just bite the bullet and go with the mini split.

Just hoping against a blackout at this point.

Very true. This past September, ~6 inches of rain fell on the Woodbury scar in the Superstitions in a 6 hour period, putting an estimated 50-60k CFS into Canyon and one of the rarest releases of water from the Salt River in history. There may be some opinions to the contrary but fishing at Saguaro and Canyon this past winter and spring wasn't anywhere near average based on what I've heard, and has flat out sucked for me (tough to admit)! Cottonwood Creek into Saguaro and Sycamore Creek into the Verde River are going to be rough after the Bush fire, Cottonwood for the fishing and Sycamore for the valley water supply.

Sent to me from a buddy on the ground, he didn't reply yet to my question asking where, just told me I was free to share them. I'll update as he gets back to me, and hopefully with more photos. Edit: Near the current, northeastern most extent of burn near Tonto Creek inlet to Roosevelt.

Bolt pattern is 4x100 (100mm/3.94" offset). I've searched OfferUp and Craigslist and can find some available but not someone to respond. Thought I would check here and see if someone had one laying around or advice on where to check locally before ordering online. Located in Mesa. Thanks for looking.

ADOT's tweet in the KTAR post a page back said mile post 251 which is right at Sonic. Others have better local info I'm sure but Google Maps appears to confirm.

They really are. San Carlos April '18.

I vote and don't have a guy I hunt with that doesn't vote, at least in the general election.

Axis are all short actions with small shanks.

If it fits an AXIS I will take it. EDIT: It does not appear they do. GLWS.

20" barrel, 2735fps was max.

Something from a guy with an 8lb jug of H4350 above his bench - don't underestimate Superformance powder for those 143 eld-x. I have a factory 20" 6.5CR putting 2.5" groups at 400 yards 70 FPS faster than I could get out of H4350 that barely shot <MOA at 100 yards. No signs of pressure but did see similar velocities at the next charge weight so I stopped. Lapua Brass 43.2gr Superformance CCI Small Magnum Primer .003" off the lands It isn't an Extreme (temp stable) Hodgdon powder but it only had a 15 FPS difference from July-December temps. Should also be readily available. Research should show several shooters from other forums had success with it as well.
