Want to buy a new fishing boat and looking for recommendations.
CouesPursuit replied to PRDATR's topic in The Campfire
I wouldn't trade my boat for anything. Some of my best memories, past, present, and future, even the remodel it gets every 6-8 years as interests evolve. I recommended something modest to the OP, something wide, aluminum and powered by 2 cylinders so you can manage maintenance yourself. -
Which rifle to brake?
CouesPursuit replied to CouesPursuit's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Hey, another threaded barrel is still a step in the right direction ππΌ It is probably next after the big bolt gun upgrade. I won't be holding my breath on the AHPA much longer! -
I'll take the 3000 please. Sending PM.
-
I'll take the 7mm dies and 139gr bullets. Sending pm. Edit: Meeting times aren't going to line up, 7mm stuff still available.

Pure ignorance. As I type this waiting for my next meeting to start at noon, my wife is on maternity leave with a 20 and 1 month old, running a 34 student online kindergarten class on Zoom, alone in the house while I'm telecommuting in a shed. She has no obligation to be helping her teammates on her FMLA yet she hasn't made a single complaint. Dang those money hungry teachers.

Yea just a theory, and another flaw in the system. Not that I agree whatsoever, but it doesn't help that the majority of elective surgeries aren't permitted and many sick people are choosing to stay home instead of seek medical attention for their illnesses.
-
One theory follows the money. I've heard if it is labeled as covid the hospital gets to bill the fed for everything. With "normal" illnesses, hospitals are reimbursed based upon the negotiated rates with the insurance companies.

so you normally supply direct deposit info for a refund but they just mailed it instead?
-
Still no stimulus deposits for me or my wife, and no information on the payment status using Get My Payment. We meet all the eligibility requirements and our refunds were deposited from 2019 using the same account as 2018.

Nice fish, that male on the right in your 3 fish pic is about as good as they get ππΌππΌ

I'm slow or you may have mistyped "those." If you meant "days," definitely not but a big leap of progress compared to anything since 2011ish. Roosevelt filling this year after Florida-strain largemouth and Arkansas black-nose crappie stockings is a combination that I'm extremely excited to see how it plays out. Hopefully guys let those little black-nose back in the water this year, they fight like a big yellow bass and nothing like the typical black crappies.

Roosevelt 2 decades ago was as good as anywhere in the west I'd have to imagine. I went to San Carlos for the first time 2 years ago when no other lakes were producing and I was amazed at the crappie there, especially considering the lake was empty less than 2 years prior. I remember my first day marking fish all the way up to the inlet. Cool lake, special place, maybe it was better Roosevelt all those years? Anyway, tight lines on dem papermouths.

Not sure about all that, just something I've been doing as long as I can remember thanks to my Dad, and I really love eating them. Pops and I in the 90's after a Sunday morning troll. Landing triples in the early 2000's. Getting my 19 month old daughter out the last few weeks. And dinner tonight. Sorry to throw this all out there but crappie and coues are the best 2 living creatures in this state and I have trouble missing an opportunity to BS about them.

Azcrappie.com has reports as well as FB. I have caught 150+ crappie in the last 3 weeks on the Tonto end of Roosevelt but none that exceeded 2+ lbs on my scale. Well over half of those were the recently stocked black-nose and were released for next year. If any cwt member wants details send me a note and I'll tell you everything I know.

Getting back to the OP, the worst of the "effects" is yet to come. In way too many states, this is no longer America. I'm (almost) speechless.
-
I've crappie fished the Tonto end of Roos 8 days in the last 2.5 weeks and today the carp are extremely plentiful. If you shoot them, they are here near the surface and ready to take some arrows. I've seen a several 15lb fish.

A little better than a cormorant but not quite as good ibis.
-
7 of these beauties in the well. Hopefully more to come.
-
Channel cats are out crushing crappie jigs as well.
-
And the grebe bite turned on today too.

Nothing against other site sponsors. But - Clay, Clay, Clay at Mogollon if you want the best mount and value.

Happy Birthday, NTS!

Some good news in the midst of things - After several of the busiest months I've ever had, I was finally able to bring my oldest out fishing for a daddy-daughter day. Roosevelt didn't disappoint. This angel fished from 8am to 4pm and wasn't the reason we had to come home. We caught and released well over a dozen of the recently stocked black-nose crappie - A few spiny yellows- And kept some slabs - After a decade, the outlook for Roosevelt is finally shaping up in my humble opinion. Stay safe and enjoy what you can, CWT!
