Thanks guys. I really thought it was $20/day. Not much different than a Tonto Pass at that point.
-
For general fishing, this forum has great fishermen and the best advice without the nonsense you see elsewhere. I would come up with pointed questions and ask away.
-
Your reference to $10 got me thinking that isn't so bad, as I only recalled paying $20/day for the black, not knowing there was a difference. Thanks for shining the light. On a second note, it says a "Daily Recreation" pass covers 2 adults and their children under 17. Just curious to anyone that knows, does this cover any 2 adults in the same boat, or a couple? The children part throws me off. Thanks.

Not that your post deserves a response but... Geez somebody's got a case of the Monday's. All good here man. I don't think it's the Mondays, but I'm probably still sour that I had to pour a few dozen live minnows out onto the ground. at least you didnt have to buy a $10 rez permit. And get everything stolen while I was buying it!!

Not that your post deserves a response but on top of being paid to work off hours on Tonto Creek on Saturday and making the most of my comp day, I always like to catch the first crappie of every year in my stomping waters. Mission accomplished. Here she is, dink or not. And you can have SC and their permit fees, I'd rather fish water I've already paid to be on.

I caught four Friday but only two worth keeping. LONG lining, the only four crappie were caught deep and I was covering the column. I was hoping some of the reports were true that crappie were bouncing back this year at Roosevelt but they haven't bounced too high. Conditions were near perfect. Also had temp of 56 in morning and 57 by noon. Covered the Tonto end thoroughly from Indian Point to Rock Creek to Glen Cove. That said, beautiful and peaceful day on the water. My brother looked like he was playing bumper boats at Alamo from a few of his pictures.

Coues hunter or Coues Sniper?

This should be much better than "Ethics..." -
I personally wouldn't pay retail but I did jump on the big RTIC sale last year. My most and least favorite things about the coolers is durability and weight but they go hand in hand. I use frozen water bottles mostly, after precooling overnight with frozen gallon jugs. The coolers work great for me this way and have saved me a ton of money and headaches in ice.

Seconds please.

Most coues hunters will never get 12 yards from them on the hoof, let alone pull it together. Huge congratulations, fine buck!!

Classy as usual, Thom. Keep shining those true colors. Not surprising the thread title doesn't state "Proud day to be a Wildcat," or "Congrats to one of Arizona's own!" From the proud ASU grad here who didn't even watch the game, congratulations to the God-loving Nick Foles from Arizona. BFD. Lol carry on..

Everyone once in a while I come across something fascinating about wildlife that I just have to share with someone. I've watched countless Osprey nail trout and bass across the state, but this video really put their tactics into perspective. https://youtu.be/nA3LtXnNIto

In the spirit of fishing season.. Osprey
CouesPursuit replied to CouesPursuit's topic in The Campfire
Ospreys and eagles are fun to watch together. I've seen eagle try to scavenge an Osprey's hard work and once that Osprey gets that fish straight it burns the eagle. Great stuff. Woods Canyon has my fondest memories of that! Also, I know you noticed the title. You're going to be getting a call for crappie soon. Have good reports coming my way.. -
I tried to catch a wigeon that fell from 40 feet or so and it HURT. Definitely not a good idea, and haven't tried since.

That is so cool.

Post twice for phone, once for cpu lol -
Sounds like you're on the right track. I can't help with specific locations in those units, but I prefer to get glass on south facing terrain in the mornings and travel parallel to cool washes with the wind in your favor once it warms up. Keep the wind in your favor and get in close!! There is a great opportunity to become part of the herd. Even if they bump, a herd large enough will scatter and regroup, creating more action than your son had ever imagined. Wish you were in one of my units..

Good job, guys. I was happy to see you tagged that buck. You have a long road of great hunting ahead of you it seems!

Not to be a wise guy but I've never seen more pigs per outing than I have in the last month. Trying to get into my tree stand in the pines. At water every day I sat it. Underneath the stand. Relocating in coues country. Busting up coues stalks. And struck. I had the 37B last year and it took me a few days to put it together.
