I had a lot of trouble reading your story and am very, very sorry for your loss. As you know there are a lot of people sending positive thoughts and prayer your way. I knew there were very rare circumstances where lions lose fear of people and/or dogs but this one changes the nonchalant feel I've had about my dog wandering about in the woods. Now I need to decide if my wife needs to know about this story or if it will go better unsaid. Your dog was beautiful and her personality and attitude seem to fit her appearance. Again, so very sorry for your loss.

I've been outboard shopping for over a year, just needing a specific powerhead with good compression, had the perfect one lined up - boat was rotting away, electrical issues with the outboard, hadn't ran in a while, had been on craigslist for 60-something odd days. I call the guy at 8PM and tell him I'd give him full asking price and be there at 6am the next morning before traffic gets heavy. Show up and he says he sold it last night at midnight!? He couldn't even call or text me!? Some people are so stupid they can't hold their word from the TP they wipe with. It's really tough sometimes. Good luck getting squared away with a reliable vehicle soon, Mike. -
Please enter that baby into the photo of the year contest. That is classic!

Hunting 36B ,October vs. Early November , can you give some feedback
CouesPursuit replied to NYAZHunter's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
^ Definitely this. ^ With consideration that I hunt a little farther from roads than most, I personally would choose the hunt with less moon, regardless of the first crack. -
NEW Arizona Deer Association Raffle.... WINNER POSTED.....
CouesPursuit replied to azelkhunter2's topic in The Campfire
This may be the only thing I keep dumping money into and it doesn't bother me when I have nothing to show for it. Thanks for putting on the raffles. Good luck to the CWT guys, gals and kiddos tomorrow. -
I have to disagree, they stole tools.. Really sorry to hear that, PRDATR.

I said it before and I'll say again, what a great way to scout for an upcoming bull hunt!!

Catfish courtesy of a fellow CWT member, bass fishing, turtle catching, etc.

Yes very nice pictures, that's a great looking mallard considering the time of year and location. IN fact, every critter in your pictures looks beautiful and healthy. Except the dead fish of course, and not to be a wise guy but that looks like a yellow bass, not a striper. Very nice. -
Let's not. Sorry Alpine, OP, and everyone who has had a camera stolen. We all know the risks of leaving our stuff out in the woods nowadays.

Great guy to deal with, Happy Birthday Brian!

I know I don't trust the original 3 blades for big game after seeing them dislodge and retract both in the quiver and with an arrow knocked. Since I'd already purchased them I keep one in the quiver exclusively for coyotes, or in this case, my first Abert. I wouldn't say they suck, after all, I did get a full pass through. The blades and arrow were put back in place for another shot at another critter.

Sounds a lot better than how I spent my 21st birthday that I can't remember. I don't know you Connor but have a happy birthday and enjoy the time with pops! Good luck!

What a cool WT buck! The placement and size of his eyeguards is unique! Thanks for sharing.

First Hunt with My Dog
CouesPursuit replied to AmericanThunder's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Congratulations, AT. You'll never want to hunt without a dog again, and the relationship and memories you'll have with him will be second to none. Great looking dog, too. -
^This, I like it. I bought a Shakespeare fly kit when I was 9, it came with a VHS, this is exactly the first thing it recommended and there I went.

For 10 and 14 year olds, cheap isn't a bad thing, let them find out if they like it enough to pursue expensive setups. When it comes time to you or them actually getting into it, the rod and fly line are what makes the cast. The reel isn't nearly as important. Although, this is probably dependent on what type of fly fishing you'll be doing as well.

Depends on the dump. Salt River Landfill will take a boat hull for $50 flat fee. http://www.saltriverlandfill.com/tipping_fees

I was just there 2 weeks ago, I concur with the OP that fish numbers were WAY down compared to my last several outings in the last 3 years. Not just fish to hand, but fish seen period. I still caught a lot of fish, averaging 12/day opposed to 25. But I honestly witnessed way too many perfect dead drifts go untouched. The first day I honestly caught none, last day I caught 18. The combination of a globug on top and zebra midge below was the ticket. Did not catch a single fish with san juan worm tied on the line, and not a single fish with a scud of any color. Most fish hit the zebra below, I only caught 2 fish in 3 days that were not on a zebra midge. From what I understand and please correct me if I'm wrong, they had a prolonged water release to bring sediment downriver for some native fish restoration (and probably other reasons as well). After that, for whatever reason, they had some temperature issues with the water, creating oxygen depletion issues. The guides have been reporting some fish killed. When I was there, I agree it didn't look like their business was hurting to me either. They were a lot nicer than they had been in years' past as far as waiving and giving space on the bars. Having said that fishing wasn't anywhere near what it was the last couple years, this could really be a great thing. There were way too many fish in there!! This will give the lower population size a chance to grow back into some of the pigs I've only read about. I'm optimistic, good things to come!

I like these suggestions. On the "don't peek," also don't flinch, and do follow through. Trust that if the only thing that moves is your index finger on the release, the bow will do the exact same thing every time.

Sounds you like have raised yourself a fine young man who is going though and understands things that most all of us couldn't fathom. Great, inspiring article. Thank you very much for sharing it.

if you know the EXACT lyrics to any line in the song, type them into google with quotes on the outside. i.e. "it ain't cool to be 15" country song lyrics This may bring up enough results to get you started.

What do you gain by moving from an entry level bow to a high end set up

Great stuff Pixman! and there is nothing wrong with these cameras. Mine has survived several bear attacks and is still taking pictures after 9 years.
