Best way to cook a wildcat?

Injuries, injuries, injuries. Always the intangible.
  3. I bought a dog from Ed and had him train another for me. Cowboy is all I have needed in a bird dog. Whoever ends up with this dog will be happy with her. Ed does a great job.

    Better off dead

If you see them before they strike, the threat is over. Never heard of one chasing anyone down to bite them. If you can't outrun a rattler you don't need to be outside your house. Used to encounter bunches of them when coon hunting on the San Pedro from San Manuel down to Benson. Only had one dog bitten in 11 years. Had more trouble with Javelina than rattlers. Hunted with bird dogs north of Oracle Junction and never had a dog get bit. The threat thing is a tad over dramatic. The stats will tell you that your not too likely to get bit, and if you do you probably won't die. In spite of your wifes best efforts!

    Aggressive bear

New Mexico game and fish have reported 2 incidents involving aggressive bears in the last 7-10 days. Both happened within 15 miles of each other, so I suppose it could have been the same bear in both cases. The first incident ended up with a shed hunter getting chewed up. My daughter-in-law took care of him in the hospital. Nothing real critical. The second incident ended up with another shed hunter shooting and killing a mature female that made a run at him. Ruled justifiable by game and fish. Very rare behaviour for our bear population in southern New Mexico.

    Wildcats done.

Great run for the cats. The better team won today. Usually the way it goes. I think Stanley Johnson is grossly overrated. I can't see where he made the wildcats that much better. He wouldn't make a pimple on Derrick Williams butt and Derrick, can't even get into the starting rotation in the NBA. Just don't feel like he justified the room he took up on this team. Not a real impact player. I don't know of anything as hard as putting a championship team together n the NCAA. One and done prima donnas are ruining the college game. Sean Miller will bring a championship to U of A I believe. Just has to catch lightning in a bottle. Sorta rambling, but I'm a Wildcats fan and a Sean Miller fan as well . Onward and upward Cats!

    shoulder dislocation

13 years ago at age 50 I was playing flag football and got upended and landed on my left shoulder. Dislocated the shoulder and broke my collar bone. Kept playing and after the game went to my doctor to,get him to put my shoulder back in order. Now I have a speed bump on my collar bone and pain in the shoulder. My point is, get it taken care of properly. When you get old you will remember all of those little events.

    $320000 ARIZONA MULE DEER TAG!

4-5 years ago the New Mexico Governors tag for elk was filled less than a mile from my house. A local guy scouted this bull and called the tag owner. If I remember correctly he was from out of state somewhere. I was told the bull scored 417, although I never was able to cofirm it. The guy that bought this deer tag will no doubt have some guys scouting the state for the best buck they can find. A healthy tip will be forthcoming for the lucky guy who spots the big one. Not too ethical in my humble opinion, but that's the way it goes.

Feral Hog Hunting in Capitan Mts ,NM

The area where the most hogs are is pretty much surrounded by private land. Some big ranches on the north side of the Capitans and that is where the biggest concentration of hogs seems to be. There is a good bit of forest service and some blm land in the higher elevations of the mountains. Have some friends that quit running there bear and lion hounds in that area due to the hog population. By the way, I live 15 minutes from Capitan.

    Problem with neighbor's dog

Years ago while living in Tucson, I trained guard dogs and personal protection dogs. I had a friends pit bull that I was keeping for a few days. The pit and a Doberman I was training got together thru carelessness on my part. The pit latched onto the Doberman and would not let go for anything. I was alone at the time and I had to put a chain on the pits collar and tie him to a tree. I then took the Doberman by the back legs and started pulling away from the pit. Every few seconds the pit would open his mouth a little to get a bigger bite. When he did I would get a little more of the Doberman out of his mouth. Finally got em apart with no real damage done to the Doberman. I have often wondered what would happen if it was a child or small adult that was on the receiving end of that deal. Most of your other dogs don't sem to have the tendency to hold and grind away. They will bite and let go and maybe bite again, but not with the tenacity of a pit bull. That trait would make me hesitant to have a pit bull around kids. The pit in this instance was as meek as a lamb after the ordeal was over.

    Problem with neighbor's dog

Well, it seems to me the root problem is the owner of the dog. Poisoning, crippling, or killing the dog is the same mentality that blames the gun for the crime. I wouldn't give the guy one more day to solve the problem, even if I had to go over the fence and remove the hill myself. Waiting only increases the likelihood of a serious dog fight.

    Win over ASU

Does a men's basketball win over ASU warrant mention? Probably not, but it counts in the win column. Too bad there is no rivalry there like in football.

    Wow III (2014)

Bump in the road for the Cats. Should be a good learning experience for guys like Stanley Johnson. Cats are still the cream of the Pac 12.

    male german shorthair

Trphyhntr.....congrats on your total lack of ability to use logic and reason....maybe Santa will bring you a brain for Christmas....lots of bird hunters would be more than happy to take a 16 month old dog and turn it into a good hunting companion...you're suggestion that he give it away or, "shoot" him is completely asinine!

    Wildcats Big Day

I don't think there is a team in the country that can beat Oregon 3 consecutive games. Arizona managed 2 out of 3, unfortunately number 3 was the big one and the Cats took a major whuppin. Most teams would gladly settle for winning 2 out of 3 against a program like Oregon. A bowl game will be a little anti-climactic now perhaps. Cats fans can now look forward to a great basketball season. ASU fans can now look forward to.....uh, well....Christmas!
