Assuming they take care of business with UNLV...guess who's heading for the #1 ranking in mens basketball? Michigan st. got bounced around by North Carolina tonight leaving the road clear for more angst and heartburn for the poor souls who root for ASU!

Game and Fish has announced that 2 sheep and 2 lions have died in the Catalinas since the release of the sheep. The lions were killed because they apparently killed at least 1 of the sheep. Who would ever have suspected that lions would prey on sheep? Apparently everyone except game and fish! I suppose the next step will be total eradication of lions in the area ! Don't be surprised if there are zero sheep left in that area in 5 years or less. Great use of sportsmen's dollars.

Sorry, I didn't see the thread under bighorn sheep. I'll defer to those who have already posted. They seem to have said it all already.

We had a similar case here in New Mexico a few years ago. Between lions and some disease that bighorns are susceptible to, they were wiped out in a range west of Las Cruces. Seems to me that those dollars would be better spent in several different areas. I'm not buying hunting licenses in Az anymore...except for an occasional non-resident bird hunting license, so Its really not a major concern of mine. Just have a problem with state game and fish depts wasting the sportsmens money...whatever the reason may be.

If i'm not mistaken, this has been tried before with no success. Why will it work now? If at first you don't succeed...throw more tax payer dollars at it?

Seems like I did reference football in my comment...apparently all you read was the basketball comment. Makes me think that you have a fixation on basketball in spite of your comments to the contrary. Down deep you must cry yourself to sleep at night while in a fetal position...all because you have no reason to believe that your basketball program will ever be anything but a sub par program! Meanwhile Wildcat fans can at least remember when the football team sent ASU home crying for several years in a row. Enjoy your football victories while you can...the tide will turn!

I lived in Tucson in the late 70s and thru the 80s...Arizona was 13-6 with one tie from 1980-1989 in the territorial cup, including 5 in a row at one point. All of the jokes that ASU fans are spouting now, were being directed at ASU then. The tide will turn again at some point just as it always does...unless you're talking about ASU basketball. They are consistently sucking hind tit behind U of A!

Gotta hand it to ASU...they took care of business...Didn't see the wildcats being able to pull off back to back upsets...hard to do...also don't see ASU beating Stanford.

When folks have to pay 30-40 % of their income on health insurance, you might see an increase in poaching! Can't buy groceries and health insurance too. Add all of the taxes that politicians use to buy votes with...folks gotta eat somehow! I prefer that they don't poach trophy animals...takes away bragging rights for legitimate hunters!

It's amazing how ignorant these people are. When they want to defend the african lion, they show a picture of small, fuzzy, little teddy bear looking lion with its front feet crossed. Someone needs to show pics of a full grown lion pulling down its prey and feeding on it before its dead! Some of them would turn on the lion after that. They have no idea of reality.

I don't know if the cats are gonna have a viable football team in my lifetime. I'm 62 years old, and its been a long dry spell for the football cats. With some genius coach who can take mediocre players and get them to play over their head, they might pull it off. I don't know who that would be. I think Rich Rod can withstand the challenge of building a culture of winning football at Az...I don't think he will hang around long if the attendance doesn't show some marked improvement. Playing with mediocre players is one thing...playing for mediocre fans is tough!

I could have sworn that there was a basketball game played in San Diego just a few hours ago...impressive performance by the Cats... ASU fans don't like to think about basketball until its forced on em...understandable!

Whats pathetic about having a top 10 basketball team with the potential to win a national championship? Of course ASU can't relate to that...never been able to even sniff one.

Buddy of mine years ago, shot a big jack rabbit while we were quail hunting. Lugged him around all day, took him home and cooked him . After trying all night to get it edible, he finally gave it to the dog. The dog got sick on it. Must of done something wrong, huh?

Just another reminder to we who are willing to get involved in pushing back against the thugs...only an elite few are qualified to engage in defense of life and property...so that elite few are the only ones who should be armed. We who are poor, ignorant, and unenlightened have no business protecting ourselves or our neighbors to the point of armed resistance. And the beat goes on!

On another subject...did you see any quail in the foothills of the Floridas? Heard there was good bird hunting in that area.

The change will never happen from the top down...it has to start at the bottom and work its way up. Start by filling city, county, and state offices with our kind of people. Then refuse to bow down to mandates from state capitols and Washington DC. Your county sheriff is one of the most important offices in your community. Elect a constitutional sheriff that will protect your constitutional rights...and then tell the liberal idiots in state and federal govt to stick it! Make your community what you want it to be. Eventually it will find its way up the ladder.

Seems like they have forgotten who the owners of the national forests are. Could be time for some firm reminders!
