I would remove the snow from under the floor and put down tarps. The heat from the stove will definately melt the snow. Use the snow around the outside of the tent as an insulator. In scouts in Michigan, we dug down to dirt, then piled snow back onto the area where we dug. Then you take lots of 1 foot long stick, and put them in the pile all over. You then tunnel into the mound and keep scraping snow from the inside until you hit the sticks. we slept 4 kids in there all night with out heat, it stayed about 50 degrees inside just from out body heat.

I had a similar situation a few years back. I stopped at the required line, but could not see to the left. It was around may 1st so sun was up early, and you could not see a car without headlights on. There was a place on the ticket with a website, and you could see the video and not just the still picks. I was able to fight the ticket because the video clearly showed me stop and then inch forward stopping until I went. I think that it will not cost you more to fight it.

I was at Walmart in Avondale on Friday afternoon, bought some ammo and handled a rifle. Went there today, gun cabinet was empty! There were a couple of people looking for an associate to get them a fishing license, but no on showed up. I kinda hung around so I could ask what was up with the guns, but after 20 minutes of calls for help at the counter and no one showing up, so I left.

Since you are "gauging intrest", let me throw this at you. I have a DPMS LR-308 rifle that I bought in July. I have 120 rounds down the pipe to sight in the scope. The gun is $1200 at Cabela's. Seems to me that if everyone only shot "big bucks" then there would be lots of hunters going home empty handed. Then, there would be a bunch of deer. Then, Fish and Game would issue even more tags to try to thin the herd. Then, even more hunters would not shoot baby deer. Then, Fish and Game would issue even more tags. You get the idea. We all should be mindfull of the future of our herd, and should honor the game with the best ethics, of your choice, that are within legal methods. And yes, I have a cartoon avatar because I am a lazy road hunter that can't even shoot a spike.

Seems like all the people on this site are going to comply with the law, as I will. It sure will burn my britches if I am humping out an elk a piece at a time and someone drives past me. I am gearing up for the multiple trips to walk it out but I think it also makes me more choosy about the animal I shoot at. I am not going to shoot an animal that I will not want to carry out versus one that could be loaded in a truck or side by side. I also believe that I will be out of the woods earlier than if I could drive near my spot and stay until very last shooting light. Have to stay positive that if people aren't doing it right, they cannot fool carma.

I have found DNZ scope mounts to be very good qualilty. I have them on a Remington Model 7 and an DPMS AR, both with a Leopold scopes. Good mounts for the price.

I would think that he would be considered as actively hunting without a license.

Totally agree that a .243 with a well place shot will be more than enough for Muley's. Good look and shoot straight.
