Travel management - what are YOU going to do?
deercrazy replied to mtn-memories's topic in The Campfire
Seems like all the people on this site are going to comply with the law, as I will. It sure will burn my britches if I am humping out an elk a piece at a time and someone drives past me. I am gearing up for the multiple trips to walk it out but I think it also makes me more choosy about the animal I shoot at. I am not going to shoot an animal that I will not want to carry out versus one that could be loaded in a truck or side by side. I also believe that I will be out of the woods earlier than if I could drive near my spot and stay until very last shooting light. Have to stay positive that if people aren't doing it right, they cannot fool carma. -
scope rings - need your help
deercrazy replied to azpredator@work's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have found DNZ scope mounts to be very good qualilty. I have them on a Remington Model 7 and an DPMS AR, both with a Leopold scopes. Good mounts for the price. -
I would think that he would be considered as actively hunting without a license.

Totally agree that a .243 with a well place shot will be more than enough for Muley's. Good look and shoot straight.

I have a new out of the box Big Game Guardian two-hunter ladder stand boasting sturdy steel construction. The 40"W x 13"D platform provides ample room to stand and shoot. Or remain seated and fire from the padded flip-up shooting rail. The 40"W bench-style seat is 13"D and covered with a 1"-thick pad for comfort. Fasteners, straps and an adjustable support bar are included for installation. Stand is tested to TMA standards and includes two full-body safety harnesses. Minimum tree size: 9" diameter. Height: 16 ft. to shooting rail. Seat height: 16". Weight: 65 lbs. Weight capacity: 500 lbs. Will consider trades for a decent knife You can contact Dave at 623-377-6802, or through PM

I have a 4x fixed Sightron scope and love it . These are very good scopes that rival the big names.

Has racial profiling not been going on since the beginning of time? Think of all the terrible things that have happened to mankind in the name of racial profiling. Do I agree with it? NO, but I also believe that profiling has been a tool by law enforcement, world leaders, and yes, even our government for years. If you have flown on a plane lately, you will see that people born before 1930, I believe, do not have to take off their coat or shoes when going through security. I guess someone just figured that old people are not up to the kind of no good that a younger person can be involved in. I guess what I am trying to say is that if you live your lives by the rules and regulations, there is not so much to fear if you are stopped by the law enforcement.

Disappointing Marlin 44 Mag
deercrazy replied to HKshutr's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I'm thinking "Hello Backpage", and cut your losses and buy a different rifle. I know that sucks, but sometimes it is just better for the sole. -
Thanks for the info. I just purchased a new Leupold scope, and saw the flyer for the free turret for my favorite load, and thought " how much difference could it make?" I put the paperwork in my gun safe, but will dig it out and send it in.

I drew a tag for the Arizona 30 Nov-6 Dec rifle hunt in 5B, and was wondering if anyone else that was planning to hunt alone would like to team up. I do not need a guide, and have started my own scouting, so i am not looking to jump into anyones honey hole, but wouldn't mind sharing camp or teaming up with another hunter that is new to the area. My wife would be happy to know that I am not out in the mountains alone, and that is my motivation. Thanks for your consideration, and please pm me if you are interested. Dave

For sale is a 42" Corbeau Suspension bench seat in Gray cloth. Direct fit into a Yamaha Rhino, or could be adapted for other off road vehicles. Paid $426 for it for a custom vw kit car, but decided to go a different direction. I will sell for $300.00. Respond via coueswhitetail.com or text Dave @ 623-377-6802

City workers cut to minimum wage salaries
deercrazy replied to gotcoues's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
The one word that stands strong throughout this article is the word "Union." This kind of stuff is going on here, but the cops and fireman might have a union, but most city public works guys don't. I work for a west valley city, and have gone without a pay raise for the past 4 years. We got our raise this year, 3%. They also let go everyone except a skeleton crew, so we have been working much harder with less people and equipment. This mayor doesn't respect his people, the very people that carry out his wants and orders and give their heart and sole to the citizens of their community. -
Archery HUNTS!!! Some food for thought.

Not trying to start anything, but won't people just go tag out in November? -
rifle for a 11 year old girl
deercrazy replied to 218buck's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Look at the Remington model 7. It is a 700 action in a smaller size rifle. I have on in .243 that is sub moa at 200 yards, and is nice and light. I carry it as a Coues gun because it is so handy to pack in. -
Will a hawk scare off deer or bears?
deercrazy replied to AZLance's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Ive seen squirrel chatter alert deer. I would think that the animals know that the hawk is upset about something, and be on more of an alert. -
Awesome pictures of an awesome plane! The one with the gun smoke is way cool.

Got mine today also. Today must be the lucky day!

Well, the story is not wrong, but as stated, they should have known that everyone, I believe I saw that 133,000 had put in for the draw, would want to check results. it does mention hunter websites as a source of misinformation, but there were also double digit pages of people responding that their credit cards had been hit, so... since game and fish monitors this site, they should have known.
-
"Always wondered how they do the credit card thing......by last name A,s first or by tag # drawn,or some other way.....just wondering" My last name does start with A.

I got hit for $114.00. Elk in 6A here I come!!!

New place to hunt yotes.
deercrazy replied to Jimmer Negamanee's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
I was working the other day near Dysart Rd. and Thomas road, there is a community college on that corner, and I saw a big coyote chillin under the only bush in the field behind the college. There were joggers going by at about 20 yards and never saw it. I finally was making enough noise for him to get up, and the joggers scattered like he was chasin them down. Funny -
Considering purchasing my first deer rifle.
deercrazy replied to rivernut's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
+1 On the Weatherby Vanguard. I have one in 30.06 and love that gun. I got mine at Walmart for $399 on sale. I did get an aftermarket stock and switch it to a magazine load gun. Put a Timney trigger on it also. That gun was way under MOA right out of the box, and with a middle of the road Nikon scope, and the trigger, it has done me well with everything I have shot at. I use good quality ammo for hunting, and remington core-loks for shooting at the range. (nothing bad against corelok, I shoot that exclusively in my .243) get what feels good to you, and your budget.
