Who needs an elk tag when you've got this?

  3. I thought you just go steal all the trail cams in the unit, and look at the pictures to find out where the big bucks are. Of course I am kidding! I am still learning my unit of choice, and spend as many weekends camping and goofing off in it as possible. I also ride my dirt bike around, it gets me to areas where the car people will not go. found lots of cool places just poking around.

    Redneck Road Rage

Looks like right lane was clear except for 1 truck. Pick up could have gone around on the right. Stuff like this is a "life's to short" moment.

    Snowmobiler Shoots Moose

I was an avid snowmobiler from the Midwest, and have encounter many deer on the trails. The moose was hanging on the trail because it was easier to walk than the deep snow. Probably right that the sledder should not have advanced, and allowed the moose to get into the clearing on the trail ahead, then throttle up the sled, and go around. Everything unharmed. I also in thousands of trail miles, never took a side arm for protection, but I didn't see what state this happened in. I agree with the comment that the moose probably had prior history with snowmobilers and decided to stand his ground. One problem with the snowmobiler going around the moose on the spot was that he probably would have gotten stuck and then would have really been put in this situation. Probably a first class case of "look what I did on camera", and one of his buddies got pissed off and put it on the internet.
  8. a friend has told me that he loves his lr American. spot on out to yards, and very smooth.
  9. I have for sale a Remington 7400 .270 caliber rifle. It has composite furniture, and comes with scope rings and bases, and 2 four round magazines. Looking to trade for a 30.06, or what you might have. I will throw in 100 rounds of Remington Corelok ammo with a full price purchase, or to help a trade deal. PM me if you are interested. Dave

    SOLD-SOLD-SOLDWeatherby Vanguard 270 win w/scopeSOLD

Hard to tell from the picture, but is that full size or a compact?
  11. The Vanguard is an excellent rifle. I had a Kimber rifle, so I get light weight, but you cant't beat the price of the vanguard, and you can change it to box magazine if you want to right out of the Weatherby website.

Get a gun and level the playing field. JK, I think that staying put when he sees you, hopefully will arouse his couriosity and he might come to you.

What to do... what to do

You are there to hunt. Take the best shot that presents it self and call that your trophy. grey ghosts are harder to hunt from your next assigned station. Take one while you can get one.

    What would you do

I would always encourage her to study and do well in school. She has a lifetime to hunt. As stated, use b as a scouting trip, maybe even leave early for points with the family, and then hit it hard after Christmas for a great buck. Good luck!

    Remington 700 300 weatherby mag

Its been my observation that what you want for it and what someone will offer are very different. Put up a or best offer price and then see what responses you get.

Hunting with a friend who has a tag

I would think that if you are hunting together, that you are both actively hunting deer, and that puts you without a license. I don't think the handgun is as much of an issue because it is of a personal protection issue. I was once camped next to a group that had kids, and they had the kids moving through canyons to push deer towards shooters. a game warden gave them a warning that those kids were considered hunting because they were actively in persuit of deer.
