Great scope. If it is the same as the Z5 Series Swarovski offers a custom turret that is caliber/bullet specific tuned for that bullet which is what I did for mine in 168gr 7Mag.

I've often thought to myself that every trip is a learning experience. My first solo deer hunt was a memorable one. I had a 68Chevy truck with a six cylinder and two wheel drive. I drove in on Four Peaks rods and took a road back to an old deserted ranch one day after work. Slept in the back of the truck and heard some hewhaw's and thought, so that's why they call them mule deer. Got up early, grabbed my 44 Contender and a Featherweight 06 I had bought earlier on clearance for $269 at Walkin Auto in Tempe. So, off I went down the wash to the upper end of the lake. About two hundred yards farther I rounded a bend and there were two spikes sparing, maybe 30 yards. I pulled up the rifle and shot one. They both took off over the burm in the same direction. I went over and found blood and started to follow it. I trailed it for a short distance and it took me back to the opposite side of the wash. Then I followed it down the wash and came across the buck lying dead under a paloverde tree. I had some rope and tied it around the buck and over a branch. I pull the buck up in the tree as far as I could by lifting it up with one arm and pulling the rope with the other. I had it gutted a short time later and threw him up over on my shoulders and carried it back up the wash. I was glad when my truck came into view and when I got to it I reached up and dropped the tailgate and laid the buck down. It took me about an hour to get home and the wife was a work. I put some plastic down on the kitchen table and did my best butchering my first buck and was done by about 11. That was probably 40+ years ago.

When I was in HS we would walk to Zorn's for lunch and for about a dollar would buy a loaf of fresh italian bread and a pound on bologna. Enough to make a hero for two people. I have some elk I'd like to make into summer sausage and have never done it before. My son bought me a grinder a few years ago and I'm just getting around to using it. I ground up two pounds last week using beef fat at about a 25% mix and made chilli out of it, not too shabby. Gringo style and used peruano beans, jalapeno and the usual spices.

Going out of state for thanksgiving and will take it with me and probably take some to Louisiana in February. I don't buy it or usually ever eat processed foods.

Well Catfish brought up a point on it replying to the post by Kellanramirez. So how many of you shoot from the opposite side of eye dominance? I got my first bow, a red and white 25# fiberglass bow when I was 12. It was a few years before compound bows came out. Being right handed and shooting instinctively for the next 25 years it never seemed to hold me back. And shooting with sights for the following 35+ years I don't feel hindered.

CFK, Yes. My brain must just compensate for it. I have always shot rifles right handed too and have taken tons of coyotes and other animals and shot High Power Rifle Silhouette very effectively. Never missed a big game animal or had to take a second shot.

I wish I had the room for one. I saw plenty of prospects when I was in 5A last month.

TYSON by a KO in the 1st round. He's a beast and has something to prove. I never even heard of JP until this whole thing started. He doesn't look like a pansy but then again he doesn't look like a tough guy either.

We drove a lot of the roads SE of Clints Well chasing squirrels and scouting for our spring turkey hunt a few weeks ago but only saw a group consisting of three Cows and a Spike. We didn't notice them until we got out of the truck and grabbed out gear to go walking about. The Spike trotted off pretty quick but the Cows just hung out before wandering off over a little ridge. We did a lot of moving around from about 8am until 11 and saw fresh sign in quite a few places but very few other hunters and zero turkey sign but we didn't walk any tanks to look for tracks just in case there was a hunter sitting close by. Best of luck, I know there in there. I think the hardest part is getting away from the roads as they seem to be everywhere. The was also a lot of tree cutting going on too.
