I have had a 788, a Model 70 Featherweight (first Production Year), a Weatherby S2 and currently have a Marlin X7 and a Savage Axis. They all shot MOA with factory ammo. The S2 really liked the Winchester 95's. The Savage will shoot under MOA with just about any factory load down to 55 grains.

Add 30 to the the first two numbers of the serial number and that will give you the year of manufacture. Example if the serial number is L74 they were made in 2004.

The ones I have seen really bond to one person or family and were biters to anyone they didn't associate with on a regular basis and even then I wouldn't trust them.

Depends on how much you sweat. I never need more than two 1 liter bottles a day while I am out hunting.
