Busy time of the year for sure. I get familiar with the area ahead of time, if it's an area I have not hunted before. There will always be newbies out there we just have to make the best of it. Anyone else remember when you couldn't squirrel hunt unless you had an elk tag? You have to realize there are more hunters now than there were last year or 10 or 40 years ago and there will always be first time hunters that drew a tag scouting before their hunt. With prime areas shrinking and getting congested, well this is bound to happen.

PRDATR replied to Coues247's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
Yes but this rain the past couple of weeks has brought most of Sonora out of drought conditions although Hermisillo is still in drought.- 1 reply

Brian they always seem to peak in Mid October.

That's absolutely fantastic. Reminds me of when I took my daughter and son to Kaibab on their first hunt.

I hunted it a lot in the late 80's and early 90's. 1000 Tags and you could get a second buck tag if you wanted one.

I have 26 too. I put in every year but haven't been lucky yet.

Are you on a phone? I can see them just fine on my laptop and my S8.

Seems to be doing ok.

Sorry to hear about your great uncle. Sounds like it may not be possible to transfer it.

Exciting stuff. Keep at it. Good Luck.

Looked you may have shot over him. Keep at it, you'll get another opportunity. Happy for you that you had this one.

I heard they got really hard hit with flood waters coming into a restaurant and vehicles swept away and worse.

Priest and University we got pounded from 12:30 to 2. Water was running down our street 5' from the curb on both sides of the street. Priest and Rio Salado had two lanes flooded probably 5" deep. My place in Mesa near 87and CC has a few inches of standing water with some local street flooding.

Maybe his name was Brooks.

I'll take them. I work in Tempe.

Yup, and there has been nothing in the news about it. 50 years ago when I was living in Northern Maine small town banks would be robbed when a fire was started at one end of town which drew all the resources away from the bank. Not a lot of arrests.

Very nice bull. Congratulations.

New News Flashes blowing up every day. None of it affects my paycheck or sleep. As long as they don't knock on my door I could care less. I vote my conscience and could care less about main stream media and all the drama associated with it. Don't care about about religion. Great starter for children and people dying wanting to phone home looking for peace. "If" you're lucky, you might find a place of worship that isn't lead by some egotistical manipulator begging for you're $10%. Be a good person and treat other people like you want to be treated. Get ride of religion and solve half of the worlds problems. All smoke and mirrors. Even if it's metastified in the last 200 years. Human nature for people to have guilt they can fall back on getting unconditionally absolved. 150K people die everyday. Haven't heard of anyone saying squat about the hearafter.

Good Luck. Beats sipping coffee in the office.

Do a search on it as this topic comes up quite often.

It's the same every year I have hunted Arizona since 76. Colorado has been about the same. It's all about the girls and when they go into estrus. You can't set your watch by it. I see as much of the rut when I squirrel hunt in some years. The rut whether deer or elk changes every year and nobody has figured it out.

I never heard of Charlie Kirk until his death. I don't see how being killed by friendly fire has anything to do with it. I don't know, was Kirk the first civilian to ever receive military honors? I've know a few veterans. Some talk about it (combat) others won't. Maybe because I wasn't one. Registered (mandatory) for the draft in 69. heck of a lot of turmoil back then. Body counts were the norm, footage too, on the six o'clock news. Saw newsreel of a helo landing in a field, picking up wounded. VC ran up and tossed a grenade into it. Back then they gave the names of the casualties. That day it was an 18 yo man from my high school. Nicest guy you ever met. State wrestling champ. Loved by everyone. I was angry for a very very long time. I had enlisted too. On my induction day the doctor in charge looked at the psoriasis on my arms and booted me. Neither my buddies dad who was a 20 year Navy Net or the NY State Senator could waive it. Walk of shame. I hope you can get some solace out of all of this. We're all in it together and share a common love for our country even though we travel different paths.
