I have 243 Vanguard S2 Youth Model with a Zeiss Conquest 3x9x40. Straight trade. I bought the scope from a CWT member about 4 years ago and the rifle two years ago. It was new, he won it in a raffle for the MD foundation. Probably has 100 rounds through it and has been on two pig hunts. I have the box, manual and stock spacer to lengthen the pull. Scope is in very good condition but I realize most people today want more magnification. Also have an older 788 in 22-250. I have two stocks for it. The original I cut down so my kids could use it on a Kaibab Youth hunt back around 2001. I have since bought a new factory stock from Numrich Arms about 10 years ago.

Long story my 26 year old son needs one after suffering a heart attack last week while at the gym. As I found out today there are two types. One has leads/probes while the other type does not. Those who have one will know what I am talking about. He has been in ICU for a week and we have a day or two to decide and I am researching the heck out of them so ANY feedback from the CWT Family is more than appreciated.

Thanks all. He was going to get out today from Banner Desert and go to Banner Baywood for rehab but they don't take his insurance and they said he needed to have a cardiologist doctor to be released into the care of which we found out at 4pm, so he has to stay until we can either find a suitable rehab and also find a cardiologist who will accept his health insurance. The cardiologist he has had for the last 18 days does not accept his insurance. He was In between jobs and had none but his Mom got him signed up with AHCCCS at the hospital and he has United Healthcare Medicaid so we will need to search the website for a cardiologist over the weekend and get him into one on Monday, hopefully.

Bill, It will keep his heart rhythm steady and he has been recovering. They did the surgery on the 5th and as of this morning he was off the IV's and he may get discharged to another facility for rehab possibly late today or tomorrow. He developed a hematoma two days after surgery but it has stopped and is now under control. He has been taking some walks under his own power without a walker and went about 300 feet on Sunday and again on Tuesday. He is on a restricted diet and has lost about 20 pounds so far. I went out and got him an electric razor this morning so he could shave because he is on blood thinners and they don't want him to use a regular razor. His EKG looked promising but his heart is still enlarged and only at about 30%. We will just have to monitor it from here on out. Thanks for asking. I am back to work this week but I have been spending some time with him in each morning before I go to work and then again in the evening after work.

Calf is lucky those three yotes didn't decide to get in on the action.

I went into the Safe Store today and kicked the tires on a few models. I really like the Liberty Tactical 24 even though it isn't exactly what I was looking for in the interior it is more than I need capacity wise.

Awesome. I was reminicing about my daughter a while back and found a shoebox full of pictures and most of them of her growing up were with a fishing pole in her hand.

Very cool and congrats to you and your wife.

I have never hunted either for anything but it sounds like you should try knocking on a few doors. Couldn't hurt. http://www.gf.state.az.us/h_f/hunting_units_2a.shtml http://www.gf.state.az.us/h_f/hunting_units_2b.shtml Also contact the regional G&F Office and ask to be put in tough with the Wildlife Manager for the areas, maybe you can do a ride-a-long.

I have never had the need to do so.

This stratedgy worked well for me a couple of weeks ago. The toms were staying with the hens so I did my best to duplicate the hens calls back to them to pike their curiosity and bring them to me. Once I had them interested and replying I would stop for a bit which seemed to urk them and they couldn't help but to come closer.

If you are seeing sign I would stay in that area especially around sunset and listen for gobbles then see if you can find where they are roosting for the night. They really like to be at least 25 feet up or even higher to escape predators. Then go back about 45 minutes before sunrise and wait for them to fly down. If there is water around they will water in the first and last hours of light so you can also sit water.

Is the eye relief comparable to the Leica?

Theyover him from ICU to another floor and the PT woman got him behind a walker and marched him around the ward for exercise. His heart rate jumped to 212 and now he is rushed back to ICU and they just shocked him again. 6th time in 7 days. Not looking good

Flash back to early January and I get a text from a friend asking me if I was interested in a trip to Sonora to hunt Goulds. Well since I didn't get an Arizona tag it was a no brainer. So off we went last friday and met in a small town just this side of the border after work and got settled in. Morning came and we made our way across the border and met our host for the next few days. From there we traveled to his hometown to meet his family and pick up supplies before heading out for the drive to their cattle ranch. Weather was cool and sunny as we arrived at the ranch in just under an hour. We unloaded our stuff and took a quick tour of the ranch house before piling into my friends truck for a drive around the rather large ranch which was a mix of mesquite and grass covered hills to riverbottoms with juniper, oaks and beech trees at an elevation of 4200 to about 5000' after we had walked to a location about a mile from the ranch house to look at the first spot. On the way back to the ranch we heard a gobble not far from the road but with our shotguns back at the ranch we returned to the ranch for a cold beverage while the brother of the host served up dinner. We sat around on the patio after dinner and watch the moonrise before settling in for some shuteye. We rose an hour or so before sunrise and headed out in search of gobblers but they were quiet. Driving we went past where we had heard the lone gobbler the evening before we saw him and his hens making their way through the bush. We went just past them and parked the truck jumping out like a Chinese Fire Drill and headed in their direction. They found us just as we found them and we froze and setup. The Tom was oblivious to us and gobbles and strutted as we called but the hens had busted us and were headed for the hills with the lovestruck Tom in tow. I grabbed my shotgun and headed up the hill behind us paralleling the flock and after about 30 yards I saw the hens making their way up the hill in front of me. I duckwalked in their direction as one by one they went up of the hill. The Tom materialized from some mesquite bushed and slowly made his way in the direction of the hens as he pecked the ground looking for something to feed on. He put his head down and I hurried to a lone bush about 10 yards in front of me and waited for him to present me with a shot. As I lifted the shotgun he picked up his head to look around and I put my front sight just below his head and pulled the trigger. It was a good hit at a little over 30 yards maybe a bit more and he started flopping around as I ran to get him. High fives all around as my hunt was over less than 24 hours after I had arrived. His beard needs to be measured but it a typical beard about 8-10" long. We put the bird in the bed of the pickup and went off in search for a bird to fill my friends tag. He will chime in soon with his own story. I am now on my way to my Turkey Slam.
