Solution to Water Hole Problems/Confrontations
PRDATR replied to m77's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
If you are going to bring a stand (or blind) in on public land it needs to be taken down or folded up when you leave even if you are not physically in it and plan to leave miday and only hunt it in the morning or evening. If a hunter is present actively hunting a spot from a stand or blind that is one thing but to set it up and leave then ti should be taken down as to not act like the spot is being claimed. I'm all for no stands or blinds within 50 yards of a water hole. We are supposed to be hunters not ambushers. But, if a hunters lack of ability limits them to that and they are ok with it them nothing will ever change. -

Same thing I was thinking. Where did you get your flu shot? I get one every year but have not done it yet this year. I have been lucky and never had a reaction and I don't hink I have been sick in almost five years.

Maybe. I saw a hunting show over the summer where they had a few old fogeys shooting these deer, yes there were a few that all looked like that. Not my cup of tea.

Can't remember ever seeing something positive said of them. Pretty sad if you ask me.

You mean a long range "harvester of wildlife" not "killer" Carl! We don't want to give the tree huggers any ammunition or votes for Obama do we? Nope. I think he said exactly what needs to be said and called it how it is! Harvesting is in regards to crops... Corn, wheat. A deer, elk, cow etc is killed so we can eat it! +1

"Some peoples children"! I think andrsn12 says it best. I saw a recent post with info from the USFS saying anything on FS Land must be removed after 72 hours and are considered abandoned. I think blinds and treestands have to be removed daily.

Does the F350 have a 390 or 460? Assuming it is gas and not diesel. Looking forward those recipes (and maybe a few archelogical stories).

That is a great platform. I have not heard of the builder though, how did you come to hear about them?

What's your favorite binocular power/size?
PRDATR replied to kazpilot25's topic in Optics and tripods
I used to have a small pair that were autofocus I kept in my shirt pocket for that. I think they were Tasco or maybe even Simmons but were perfect for stalking in the woods. The hinges wore out which made them flop around or I would still have them and have never been able to find another pair. They were great for archery hunting. -
I purchased a pair of 10x50 Diamondbacks last year for my son and when comparing them to my Swarvo EL's which are about 8 years old, I do see a slight difference in crispness but it is probably not too significant if your under the age of 40.

An old but interesting read on Trail Cameras in Montana. http://www.fieldands...an-goes-too-far -
I snapped off a Buck knife with the gut hook and found out that knives aren't pry bars. They perform best when slicing through soft tissue and don't work well to chop bone either. Look at the warranty info, it probably has a disclaimer about bending it. Some knives can do that but I thing when you approach the higher Rockwell Hardness ratings that becomes an issue.

PRDATR replied to Koury Guide Service's topic in Elk Hunting
I was at Woods Canyou early yesterday and had a bull walk out in front of me on the Rim Road. I pulled over and followed him into the trees a bit and heard some other bulls bugle. Fog was as thick as pea soup with max visibility of about 100'. Was wishin I had a tag and it was open season. -
That picture has probably been posted 50 times in the last month.

Thats no lie. What is happening to businesses from Corpus to Key West is criminal because of the stupid moratorium on no drilling. Lots of Mom and Pop businesses gone, family savings gone.
