    Jack woulda shot it!

No doubt he would have. Is that American Walnut? A rifle of that quality is something you don't see anymore. I'd certainly take it afield. Scratches and dings can be repaired, if so desired. But that's what makes memories and campfire stories.

    Any striper reports

Learn something new everyday. As a kid growing up on Long Island in the 50's and 60's we only surf casted the beaches and caught them in the marshes on the in coming tides. I didn't know the state had records for them in fresh water too. Fish over 50#'s were pretty common back then especially if you fished Montauk in October or were lucky enough to fish New Jersey where the current IGFA record of 78.8#'s was caught.

    April bears

Awesome write up and overall good job tracking that critter. The rest speaks volumes of ethics but you don't need me to say that, good job.

    Richards Sporting Goods

I have plenty of friends who have Green Cards and they never get asked. Why? Because it isn't required. If you are making a purchase with anything other than cash then it is commonplace to ask for a picture ID. http://smartgunlaws.org/ammunition-regulation-policy-summary/

Ummm, because it isn't a requirement to purchase ammo.

    Looking for a Labrador

Do a search of the forum. There was a member who was getting deployed and had a one year old Lab that had quite a bit of training he was selling. His last post was just a few weeks ago. It was a chocolate male and I believe he was in Sierra Vista.

    LR gunsmith

That's terrible to hear. I had a couple of guns repaired by him and the price was fair and the work performed in a reasonable amount of time.
  9. I just about gave up on it when it showed up about 2 weeks ago. I went straight to BP and bought some PLINE Floroclear.

255K on a Y2K F250. Original tranny, put in a fuel injector, alternator, two H2O pumps, radiator and lots of tires.
  16. I watched him shoot Silhouette many years ago and it was unbelievable seeing him center punch each target. He shot pretty close to a perfect score back when Chin Guns were being used.
  17. Because the topic is Best Mexican Food Restaurants. I wouldn't eat there again if it was free, in the 35+ years I have lived in AZ that place is without a doubt the bottom of the barrel. Construction site roach coaches or Circle K micro wave Burritos are better. The place is just nasty, but then I only ate there twice and haven't been back in 20 years. Even my kids didn't like it. One place I used to go to when December tags in 29 were easy to get was just across the border in Agua Prieta. It was an old converted house with an uneven foor. Just great food.

Definitely a very sad day and an act of cowardice.

Of course they have no way of knowing if it was sold word of mouth so if it does pass I think most people will just go through an FFL holder as a CYA. And likewise they could have just come out and said any transfer of ownership must have a background check and go through an FFL holder.

I agree with this point. Keeping the information and the use of the information in the future could be a concern. Question for anyone here; It's been a while since I've purchased a new gun. Do they still have you fill-out the same yellow form that has been there for decades? I know it's not background check related, but it sure does have critical information (name, address, serial number of firearm, etc.). What is everyone's opinion of the 'yellow form'? S. If you are buying from a licensed dealer you will be required to fill out a 4473. It stays with the dealer and he also records the sale infor, buyers name, serial # etc into a "Bound Book". The book and 4473 stay with the dealer until he is no longer a dealer at which time he turns it all into BATF. So pretend a firearm is used in a crime and recovered. Law Enforcement goes back to the manufacturer with the Ser#. They tell him which wholesaler they sent it to who in turn tells them what retailer/FFL Holder bought it and by him looking up his in log book and 4473 he gives them the name of the buyer. If the buyer sold it and didn't keep a record od who he sold it too (not currently required in AZ) the paper trail ends. http://www.atf.gov/files/forms/download/atf-f-4473-1.pdf Thanks much! That is a great comprehensive description of how the current system works! Interesting nuance regarding the government actually holding/storing the information vs. the retailer/FFL keeping the information. S. The Retailer/FFL Holder keeps the information indefinitely and only turns it over when they go out of business.
