For archery I use conquest 8x42 on chest.  I have used 8s or 9s for archery for years and will not go without 8 or 9s with a bow in my hands.  You could get used good 8s to use during archery.

By far the easiest to keep steady when hand holding. When I went from 8.5's to 10's I could notice a difference. Bigger difference with 12's. I have had them all setup for tripod though. With the 12's there were times when I would have liked to have had my 15's.

  2. The rear of the stock is what I would refer to as "cast off". When you shoulder it your head is positioned so you look directly down the barrel. Did you paint it or is that how it came.

I bought mine (circa 1990) primed and painted it myself. I met one of the owners at Ben Avery not too long after they split the company. Nice guy. Mine was setup with a factory Varmint Special in 7-08 with a Weaver T-16. I got a 2oz trigger from Sam Shelly and shot HP for a couple of years. Probably still have a few boxes of Sierra 168 HPBT Match. Always used BR4 primers. It shot one hole groups at 100 yards.

have you used many steel cans?  My first 30cal can was a titanium HTG Predator, they went out of business. It isnt very light, but I dont remember what it weighs.

My first 30cal steel cans weighed 24oz, a Specwar 762.  My Silencerco Scyth weighs around 8.4oz with the mount.  Diligent Defense Enticer STi with the mount weighs 9.3oz.

The old style uses baffles inside a tube.  The new computer welded Ti baffle stack style is much lighter.  The 3d printed ones have been a little bit heavier, but who knows what will happen.

I have never owned one. A few years ago I shot a full auto AR at the G&F Expo and that was my only experience with them. It actually blew off part way through the magazine while I was shooting it sending it downrange about 30'.

Ya, I'm I'm probably about as old as your dad, I'm guessing.....   I've done a couple of smoked Thanksgiving turkeys over the years.

I picked that Brinkmann up at a yard sale for $5 almost 30 years ago.  GF tells me to get one of them fancy-shmancy Traegers, but this old thing works just fine.

I'm on my second Brinkman (R2D2) in 30 years. Bottom pan and middle pan are rusted out. I smoked some King Salmon from Sprouts and some Pork Belly Burnt Ends yesterday. I can only eat one or two at a time they are so salty. I am looking at getting a Weber 18" Smokey Mountain Smoker. I have some points at ACE I can use since they are the same price everywhere. I like that they are sealed and have vents so I can get it going and not have to tend to it every 15 minutes.

Up by Rodger Trough. Above Queen Valley. If You park in the parking lot at the very top. And hike or Horse ride North East from the parking lot. There are several abandoned and questionable campsites back in there. One area for sure looks like a old meth lab or something similar. All the plants and trees are dead for about 60 feet or so in diameter. And there is a old mine shaft full of plastic jugs and containers. Most have no labels on them. . Crazy shoot goes on everywhere and half the timeYou or I don't know shoot.

Lots of old mines back in there. As for Kohberger, I'd be living out the remainder of my life in the big house if it had been one of my kids and go to bed with a smile on my face and not loose a wink of sleep.

I'd make him suffer. Death by a thousand cuts would seem merciful to him.

My dumb arse thought it was a badger lol

Well Kev it's not like there is either one around every rock in AZ. You would have drive north for two days to be in Wolverine territory.

We use Ring and Simpli Safe.  Both are good.  Started with simpli safe, then tried ring on subsequent properties.  I’d go with Ring because their cameras are better.  Both systems work good and are easy to install.  We have monitoring with both companies and both work as they should.  ADT is way over priced.

ADT = Always Done Twice. At least that's how other companies in the industry refer to them.

I know a guy that runs a security company and according to him because I honestly have no idea a lot of the diy ones that run through your internet have China ties and send your information there.  Not that I'd be all that worried about it just passing that along.

But since we're on the topic if anybody knows of a system that automatically uploads to the internet or doesn't I'd like to find one that I can install myself that will automatically call the cops if an alarm is triggered..

You will probably need a monitoring company for notifications who will either notify the PD or the FD.

Do a little homework on the political affiliation of the many ranchers in this state who own 100 acres or less deeded that is contiguous with their 20k-50k acre 150 head Fed grazing lease and many of them shut us fellow conservative/ republicans down from accessing it. Then dig a little further and when you find out what said rancher pays per cow/calf pair per year to graze it, it will really piss you off
