The odds of receiving a permit for a second choice hunt instead of a first choice hunt are calculated by subtracting the draw rate for the first choice hunt from the draw rate for the second choice hunt. The odds for receiving your first or second choice would therefore be the same as your highest odds choice. There it is, right out of the book!!!

32 is awesome!

Take your odds of drawing the cow tag and subtract the odds of drawing the bull tag and that is your chance at the cow tag. That's what the G&F says.

San Carlos has those elk because they don't shoot the heck out of them or have nearly the "Oppertunity" that we do. All for it! 6pts or more!

WOW. Kinda sounds like the G and F should start a doe hunt. I mean with all of these crazy buck to doe ratios, we could get those in check, create more opportunity, and revenue. Its a win win win. Nice video Jack. Your getting really good at this, I love the song choice.

Solution to Water Hole Problems/Confrontations

Great, another nannie stater. Hope you like Obama. -
Just so that you understand what I said correctly, I am not saying that azda fixed the draw, I said that the draw was completely random. The FACT IS, 4 AZDA "BIG WIGS" GOT STRIP TAGS!!! THAT IS A FACT, NOT A CONSPIRICY!!! IT IS ALSO A HUGE COINCIDENCE!

bi How would you go about changing the guidelines to only have 1 junior hunt in the region? I doubt the department would even think about it because they would lose money but it would be worth a try. According to some peoples logic on here people "just want to get out in the woods and have fun and don't really care about killing anything" and " a great experience is just getting out in the woods" and all that bologna So why do we care about where they hunt? Put them in 4AB and let them chase the 2 deer in the unit. They will still have fun according to you guys and they wont be in a trophy unit. I also forgot about the archery hunts in 3C. I have heard but don't know if it's true that when the department wanted to cut back on the tag numbers certain groups such as the Arizona deer association and others that make money off of hunters hunting there threw a fit so the department changed it back to make them happy. What's up with that? I thought this was about management and not money? I heard this straight from a game wardens mouth during my 3C rifle hunt. Don't forget that 4 of these azda big wigs got drawn for the strip this year also. It is a completely random draw. That's fact.

You are right. I don't know why they bother paying WM's. What we ought to do is just have you and your buddies get together at the Red Onion eat some monster burgers and just tell the rest of us ignorant city slickers how many tags there should be. Then everything would be fixed, 400" bulls would abound, everyone could draw a tag, your arteries would be clogged, the elk would be saved from extinction, and there would be peace in the middle east. Problem solved. Packer - You better start looking for a new gig. Your on to something.....Except for the middle east, I would turn it to glass. Other than that, yeah. We finally agree.

What about changing the hunts from 7 days to 3 or 4? Start the season on a monday thru thursday, then have a friday thru sunday hunt? That way the people that want the OPPERTUNITY, can have it on the weekend. The rest of us that don't like people can hunt before them without the crowds.

Congrats how many points?

Thank you for the info. Does the G&F take into account the advances of technology in thge hunter success rate with better glass, guns and rangefinders. I feel that the entire hunting public has gotten ALOT more effecient at their hobby. Take for example muzzle loaders. Was it the intent to have them shooting 3 - 400 yds, or was the intention for the traditionalist hunter. The archery hunters are now constently killing at over 100yds. The bull to cow ratios could be acheived by not killing so many cows, no? 27 is one of the last units to get away from people, what about the rest of the units?

HMMMM......I hunted for 5 days and saw lots of deer I guess. 25 or so bucks, 4 in the 90's. I also saw Lots of people. All must be ok then.

FYI, I don't road hunt. Also, 15 - 20 years ago in 6a, there was ONLY a december hunt.

It's not just the elk hunts. There are way too many tags on all of the hunts. I would happily pay doubble the cost for a tag to have less hunters out there. I had a WT tag in 23 this year and hunted a spot that takes an hour and a half to get to off the highway and ran into 40 or so other hunters. They say they want more hunter oppertunity. What fun is there in the oppertunity to get in a fight over who is hunting where even who shot that deer. I don't enjoy just taking my rifle for a walk, I can do that in town. I would enjoy to have the OPPERTUNITY to hunt A hillside alone. The game and fish department has the hunts so screwed up and there is no sign of any change in the future. Raise the $7.50 fee to $20 or more, raise the tag fees by 20%, reduce the number of tags across the board, cut the number of cow tags in half, have a REAL trophy hunt with no more than 15 tags in any unit for elk at a cost of 3x a normal tag fee, same for deer but have the hunt in Jan. These are some things that I would change. Just my 2c.

There is a rimfire match on sunday at ben avery. Bring your 22 and have some fun shooting silhouette. The match starts at 8 and practice starts at 7.
-
Is shooting at a 110 buck and shooting comp the same stress? No. I shoot long range and Silhouette high power and small bore. Its much more stressful to have a deer in you scope. That being said, shooting competitively forces you to develop trigger control, breathing and being comfortalble behind a rifle. I would recomend it to everyone, very humbling.

Smack the ends of the holes with a pin punch. Put the bolt on a piece of wood first, use a pointed punch and a small hammer, you won't hurt it. Just don't smack it like your trying to drive a rr spike in with one shot. All you need to do essentially is deform the i.d. of the hole so that the pin will have some tension on it. Your other option is getting another pin. You should be able to get a roll pin at Ace or Copper State that will work. I think it is a 1/16 pin.

I am interested in the trailer. I am NOT interested in the price. I check out craigslist every day for a trailer as I am in need of one, and your price is no deal. However, most of us here on CW tend to be helpful to one another. I just wanted to let you know that if you get in a bind and need the cash let me know. Your welcome.

If you get to $600, or just want to get it out of your hair, let me know. That's where I would be interested.

Great bear Jack! I wish I was there for your second also, maybe the third. Thanks again for all of your help.
