    How Far Do Coues Travel?

GR- I think that with all the water they will tend to move less. They have all they need in one spot. I spent a 2 days down in 36a and most of the deer I saw stayed in the same area (within a hundred yards) from morning to night. And likewise most of the deer I saw in the evening were pretty close to the same spot the next morning. Well anyway it was sure good to see all the water, looks to be a good year.

    Family Strengths

My father is a general contractor in Show Low, when I grew up I did concrete, build houses and drive truck. Now I am a full-time dental student at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. If you need any teeth extracted give me a call and I'll meet you out at the woodshed with my leatherman. In two years after I graduate I plan to set up a practice in the White Mountains

    Badgers

I was wondering the same thing, I saw this guy dead and rotten just a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if he died in the tree or someone put him there. I didn't see any bullet holes or any trauma.

Amanda, I've taken my velbon efl's out about 6 times since I've gotten them and had some good success, I really like it, (don't know any different, but they seem very nice) Thanks so much for the help, all the questions I asked etc... I sure appreciate it. Houston

anyone gonna be carying new gear this year?

I got some new 15x's and also the velbon efl tripod from Amanda, spent too much money so couldn't get the jim white head but will next year. Amanda I have a northface down bag that I love, and a small Eureka backpack tent, not as good as others but not too bad either. I'm looking at a new backpack but not till the next few years.

    Bow slings

Bass - I don't know about all bow belt "hooks" but mine is made out of a rubber material and the bow doesn't slip, I can be off center quite a bit before i have problems. I got mine from a buddy who got it at archery headquarters in chandler.

    Picacho Peak Elk

Well I don't have time to make a educated argument, or comment, so it will be just opinion. As a boy I spent lots and I mean lots of time on the fence line of the reservation on top of the rim. (less than 5 miles from the house i grew up in) My family were some of the first to settle that area and my great great aunt was supposedly a medicine woman that even everyone left alone indian and white alike. (most think she was just plain crazy) I have no idea if merriams existed but my grandfather thinks there was some in the big canyons off just off of the rim. I love looking at big bulls, i don't care how they came about. As far as elk in the cedars, I prefer elk there, I've seen bigger bulls in the cedars than anywhere else, maybe once again I just love big bulls, as long as they don't expand to my COUES areas.

    Lamell Ellsworth

Hey Lark, I knew Lamell abit, sure was a good old guy. I didn't get to know him very much since he has been ill for quite some time. Most of the stories from Show Low mention either Lamell or his relatives. Sure leaves a great legacy, my grandfather I just found out worked with Lamell for years back in the late 60's, i'm sure he has some good stories. Well just wanted to add and pay my respects to the family and memory of a great man.

  20. I lived in Rock Springs for a while and wished I was in Pinedale every day. Good country up in those windrivers, Rock Springs was real windy. I remember looking out the window one morning and the Flying J Truck Stop sign read -53, to this day I don't know if it was correct who cares it was cold with lots of wind.

    Performance Contact Lens

I like the idea, but i already wear contacts. I wear the day and night and leave them in almost a month at a time. They are the best i've worn so far.

    Colorado Muleys

Those are great pics. A few years ago we hunted unit 21 because we had friends that would let us stay in there home in Rangely, (did not have to draw). Saw some good bucks there but couldn't make it happen. Wonderful area, thanks for the pics, I can't wait to back up there. (after dental school is over i guess) Rangley is quite the town. I remember seeing more antelope bucks on the highway in the middle of town then people. (almost like lamont, wy)
  23. I love all the pictures. Sure would love to see some Colorado "hawgs"
  24. Chris-those are great pictures I like the 3rd one down, but I am a sucker for extra points and drops.

    Are the rim roads closed?

often times when we get heavy rain and snow, they keep em closed until turkey season, i was up last weekend and still closed around forest lakes
