Upgrade scope from Vortex Viper HS LR
WHT_MTNMAN replied to recurveman's topic in Long Range Shooting
I love mine but I made an expensive Tangent Theta purchase earlier this year and now my daughter is getting married so If you are serious and want a used one, I may be selling. The only downside is that it is a little on the heavy side ( most of the great scopes are) but I love the strength and durability of the scope. Glass is awesome. P.S. nevermind I see you wanted it in MOA mine is MIL -
Got it from my neighbor.

Worth a small fortune. I just picked up a 2010 with 80k miles for 16k and everyone I talked to thinks I could get 22-25k out of it...insane prices right now.

I'm a huge fan of bareshaft but you can't use a bag target with great results IMO. You are looking for parallel shafts out of the target. Then you can start moving sights to match.. Like above BH tune is the end all.

Toyotas are the most reliable of any vehicle out there, they lack in comfort possibly and technology and cutting edge equipment, but they can't be beat with reliability. Even with nasty off road use. I'll never say they are the best for everyone, but if you want something that will run and run forever with little to no maintenance it is a Toyota. So it really depends on what you want. That being said my wife bought a used (2014) Sequoia in 2017 and it was still pretty expensive, it has over 210k on it now and is a daily driver of 60-100 miles a day, and she could still sell it for a pile of cash. Everything works great still and she absolutely loves it. Ours does not have the locking rear diff, that is usually on the tacomas and 4runners, but maybe some of the sequoias have them also. I'm not sure. Haven't been in the market for a new one.

Well my daughter got engaged and he is frugal, a hard worker and wants to take care of her. In this world that is some very good news.

I was going to post but wasn't for certain. I dropped some 257 BOB reloading stuff off beginning of the year and he didn't want me to see him. He was in poor health and felt embarrassed He didn't return my texts or calls so I stopped by and didn't get an answer. RIP. BLJ

G&F commission voted unanimously to ban trail cams

yeah seriously, all of the cameras I use regularly are in 3c, (i usually run them to see horn growth, and have something to do May-August) I haven't drawn an elk tag since 2010 in 3c and havent' drawn a deer tag since 1994 in 3c. I don't see a problem at all but who knows. -

I usually make sure I buy everything I need for the weekend so I can stay home and not deal with weekend masses, but I may have to just come by.

I should have some stuff I'll look this evening when I get home.

IMO the only way it will hurt the outfitters and guides are with auction and raffle tags. Maybe not even that since they can pay a lot more people to be in the woods.

Maybe not on the strip or unit 9 or maybe even for elk at all, but what about all the Coues/mule deer that got killed on water this year and all of the last year?. Most of the successful archery deer hunters that I've seen the last few years were because of water and cameras. Rifle can be a different story. Of course I don't have any real research on that but a lot of observation. The guys that decide they want to kill a deer can set up cameras in june and july, check once or twice sit a tank or salt and kill a deer in August or Sept. It is those guys that will suffer, guides and outfitters will just spot light and run up and down the roads more and spend more time than the before said DIY guy that went out 2x.

I saw a couple of boxes up here.. kinda high priced but what isn't. Let me know if you want me to pick something up for you. I believe they had some 12 and 20.
