It is happening everywhere and has been for quite some time. When I first started hunting Utah. (back in 2005 and 2006) there was 8-10k leftover archery tags. in less than 15 years that went from no left over tags (around 2011 or 2012) to drawing every year to drawing every 2 or 3 years if you are lucky. I too am surprised it has taking this long to get rid of all of the tags. I always wonder about the claim of less hunter recruitment but I haven't see in for sure.

First off I found that I really hated to pack a BTX and a chair. So it stayed close to the truck or SxS because I couldn't glass without a chair. Which was different for me also, I usually sit on the ground. I use a 701 head on a manfrotto tripod that works well but it is heavy for sure. But since I don't take it far from the vehicle it wasn't that big of a deal. I also do not own one, just have used ones from friends.

It is all relative but here is his exact quote. "Better turnout than I expected" he has been the main guy for many years up there. Maybe he just expected no one to show up. I know this wont be popular but I would rather pay a little more and not deal with all the people. It got tiresome to wait 30 min to shoot a target. Ive been going there from the beginning and stopped going when it took 4 or 5 hours to do 1 course. Sure it is fun and all but you could spend all day and shoot 20 or 30 arrows. I'm not saying I agree with the drastic price increase but something had to give. Supply and demand at work. I bet it was a quiet and awesome time up there.

Buddy said it was quite a bit busier than he expected.

and still wouldn't have been drawn most likely

That is awesome, the older I get the more important times like these really are. Great job on including your son in your love for the outdoors and it is awesome seeing them accomplish things on their own.

It should be awesome!! every Ram is now 180+.

There is a new director that is changing everything up. She thinks with how successful it has become if a few people dont want to pay the higher prices it will still be worth it. This year will be pivotal for the future of the shoot.

Thanks, I've known all year that I was getting drawn, just didn't know what unit yet.

Well if anyone is looking for a great marinade/seasoning this is my favorite. I like to support local companies and was given a chance to try this, loved it and ordered more...and it is all Ive used on beef, chicken and wild game for the past year. Ive been very happy. Time to order some more. Give it a try you will not be dissapointed.

Back in the late 80s and early 90s I worked along side my dad in the log woods up here in the 3c area, logging and thinning brush. There was a significant amount of work back then. It all stopped shortly after. 10 or so years later we burn almost half a million acres.

Did you just cut and paste? It worked for me when i tried it. Good luck getting through tomorrow...what a nightmare -
I have a hard time remembering its a wildfire. All I can think of every afternoon when the smoke settles up here in the White Mountains that all of southern Az must be using mesquite for their BBQ. It is always tough to see fire burn through some of our favorite areas but it will rebound and do great very quickly.

Well at least I dont feel too much like an idiot. That buck never looked Couesy too me..except like i mentioned the markings. I probably wouldnt have shot it with a muley tag either but again it acted like a Muley too me..

Catfishkev got me thinking it would be fun to guess the score on a few bulls. I know these are a little amateurish compared to many of you but these are the pictures I found from years past. I think this will show many people how difficult it is to judge a bull from pictures. Disclaimer: these are not official scores nor are they exact but all but one I scored myself and even though I am not an official scorer I spend lots of time learning the proper way to score and I bet they are within a few inches of the official score. 1 Bull 2 Bull 3 Bull 4 Bull 5 6 BTW just overall gross
