That is a great story and a huge accomplishment. Wide open flat country and you did it in a wheelchair! Awesome!

Welcome to the site and to CW. Lots of good info on Az game and fish website, but I think you are on a good path with unit 32 and 33. Both have good populations of Coues. If I may offer one suggestion. Usually during the Archery hunts, (August, Dec, and Jan) finding a Coues buck will not be the challenge. It will be making it all come together with archery tackle. I really enjoy backpack hunts and normally prefer to get away from the crowds myself, but in these hunts, the best recipe for success will be multiple attempts, shots, stalks etc...on Coues bucks. For that reason I don't always recommend spending your energy "getting away". Spend your energy and your time getting close. Good luck to you!

On my cams I saw more extras last year, this year I see more inlines. Like your bottom 6x7. Lots of 7's etc.. Great looking bulls. Congrats to those with tags, its always fun this time of year. -
At one time I had an outdoorsmans, Large bogen, swarovski, vortex, and 2 promaster xC325 I used the 325 90% of the time..I'm sure there are others but for just a bit over $200, it is hard to beat. The 525 is a bit bigger and costs a bit more.

My eyes are narrow and I put an extra small plate on the bottom and the adjust to the narrowest just fine..

I hope everyone freaks out, especially about the prarie dogs. They have let (introduced) them into places they have never been. P-Dogs are destroying private property all over Az

I don't know for sure what the 40s are but probably 34 or 36. Kuiu runs longer than most

I prefer the low one and keep it attached to my binos at all times

Just my opinion but I would get the panhead and get another tripod. The outdoorsman tripods are good but you can get as good for less money. The panhead is almost unbeatable for size, weight and functionality. If you save on the tripod then buy new panhead. Good luck

Who's headed out this weekend
WHT_MTNMAN replied to bonecollector's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
I know this is a rez bear but pretty cool. Sow before my boar came in. Boar Hopefully I'll make it out to look for a giant bear I found last year. -
I'm not sure how common it is, but I have something on camera that is freshly broken almost every year. This was this year.

Digiscoping newbie questions
WHT_MTNMAN replied to Jazz's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
FOV is the difference between binos and spotter. Almost impossible to freehand a phone on a spotter. The phonescope will help in that aspect. -
It is pretty funny, over the years I've found that bull elk are more intrigued and love the camera more than any other animal. Another quick video with standard youtube music, look past the quality of video for the bulls. I almost deleted the last video until I saw the last 2 seconds. Pretty solid bull. I don't get very many good Coues bucks on my elk cams but this one might turn into something special.

If anyone wants to put in for 3c for Coues they can have at it!!! Not too much of a secret for mule deer and elk thanks to many people and outfitters long before me.
-
Beautiful bucks Phil!! Nicely done!
-
I have plenty of pics of Coues bucks but never one that could be decent in 3c. Lots in 22,23 and 27 over the years

I have no idea what this bull scores, but they are saying it has the most mass of any bull they have killed???? (Instagram says heaviest typical) To me that probably means probably 70"+ of mass. If it really has that much mass than it probably has beams pushing 60". I start adding up the numbers from there and it could be a hammer possibly well over 400" but who knows, I hope the guy killed it because he really wanted to not because of a number for sure.

Standmans post reminded me of I took some last week.

Exactly I guess this thread won't make it to page 2 with me agreeing with you.

I saw a lot of good fronts and not as good of tops. Any year is a great year to have a tag though.

Now there is the missing background. !

Great fish, comment about naturechick was funny.

First off you need to understand I don't have any hate for A3. I respect what they do and the animals they kill. I understand the anger they had when the whole camera thing happened. I'm fine with that. I've taken care of what happened with A3. I'm friends with a lot of their guides. What I don't respect is people claiming to be perfect law abiding citizens tearing into me that then get caught red handed guiding and killing bulls on the rez a month after the incident. And another incident that involved the same A3 golden boy on the reservation AGAIN. You like to always bring up the family aspect of it yet there's certain situations you have put yourself in that aren't any better than some situations I've put myself in. But I won't get into details on those because I know you know which one I'm talking about. So don't think I'm commenting that this bull is smaller than what they say it is just because it's A3. But I have spoken personally to a certain taxidermist that has scored bulls after their scores and they are off by more than a few inches. You said it yourself if a bull is 410 why would anyone ever think they needed to add inches to a bull like that? That's an amazing bull anywhere anytime. Yet certain individuals still add all kinds of inches to an already amazing bull just so they are that much cooler. I'm still not sure why the obsession with said A3 golden boy but sooner or later it's all gonna come out and he's gonna bring down more than a few people with him. So that's where I stand on A3. I don't hate them, I simply disagree with the way they and certain guides of theirs are off doing things worse than stealing a camera and at the same time want to crucify the guy that did everything in his power to make it right after it happened. But I understand you're friends with them so you'll stick with them til the end. But just remember this post when your buddy goes down. As for being a firefighter in the public eye I didn't know they disagreeing with an elk score was something the public cared about. I'll be more careful from now on. I will never condone illegal activities from you, or anyone else, even and especially my friends. That being said you accusing me of wrong doing is a different breed. Please call me (you have had my # for many years, unless you changed yours) I can and will tolerate anyone that makes a mistake and owns up to, I applaud you for that, but I have not and will not put myself in a position of illegal activity. I agree with that. I've always used score to friends to help in judging just how big a buck is but it has all come down to "showing off" inches. It isn't what it should be about.
