    Dodge Ram

I'm still pending being accepted as a group member, I too wanted to see that. When you find out who it is let me know. I like them already.

    Another wood project

Looks great!! Take what I say with a grain of salt. I am in no way trying to degrade the good job you did, but most barn wood is a light gray and even yellow if it is on the south side. Even still I like it a lot.

    Utah

You can get to most places in your truck, but a couple areas you would wish you had the rhino, gets sloppy if monsoons are strong..you will also see a lot of deer down low in the private property...lots of CWMU areas that you can not hunt so make sure you know the boundries...

    Utah

Quite a few people know that unit, very popular. Just like any other unit in any state you will be hard pressed to get a honey hole from anyone. I killed a great buck in 2012 that I had seen for 3 years with very little pressure, now about 25 people hunt that area every year... It went from buying a leftover tag every year to only getting drawn every other year in less than 10 years... Lots of young bucks, fair amount of decent bucks and a few good bucks. Way too many road hunters. You will see plenty of bucks, just making a plan and putting it together is what is,difficult. If you just want to shoot something it should be fairly easy...Good luck.. I didn't draw this year.
  5. Hey Lance, can I be the first on the list to borrow it? I have a feeling it will shoot as well as either of my customs when you are finished.

    Mexico Goulds

Due to changes in my office in the last couple of months, the week long trip to Mexico ended up being only a day and a half of hunting. My youngest son Colton was able to wrap his tag around this great Mx Goulds. short spurs but a 10.5" beard. We had a great time as always. One of my sons wanted to shoot a turkey with his bow, so we hunted in a blind an evening and a morning with no luck. Colton enjoyed hunting in the blind.

    South Africa 2016

Impressive, I've never had much of a desire to hunt Africa but the terrain in your pics and the photos you took are making me rethink it. Very cool.

Great looking bird Christian. I love it when a plan works out. Nothing like hunting with family.

    Rice small mouth fishing.

I catch small mouth on about everything you can think of, but I've gotten to be a little bit of a fishing snob. Kind of like some of those fly fisherman. I love to catch small mouth on top water with a floating deep diving Rapala. I don't catch as many, but usually catch on average a little bit bigger, no matter the time of year.

Crispi is one of the best boots available imo. Very tough to find anywhere to try them on though. They have synthetic/full leather depending On your wants and needs...

backpacking tents.... what are you guys using?

DB. I have done my fair share of winter backpack hunts both here in the Show Low area and AK. As long as you are prepared it is a great way to go. On the flip side nothing is worse than being unprepared. IMO order of importance 1. Sleeping bag and tent 2. Plenty of fuel to heat water. I've spent many days standing around in blizzard like conditions drinking hot water with anything for flavor. 3. Good boots and a way to,dry them 4. Camp chair to get you off the ground if you will be in the snow. I'm sure there are other things more important but these are high on my list.
