Couple of years ago we had 2 cow tags in our family of 5. We hunted together, spotted and packed elk together. We are lucky and able to hunt out of the house. 2 cow tags filled the first evening with everyone there. It was a great experience. Normally I like having them split up. I get to spend quality one on one time with each tag holder. This year my daughter drew by herself and she made a great shot the one day we got to hunt.

So unless you already have a cape then I would say $100-$150 for a cape and then the regular taxidermy fee for a Coues deer..$550-$700. So somewhere between $650 and $850+ would be resonable. A lot depends on the taxidermist and the quality you want.

I missed it too the first time around. Way cool. congrats to you and your daughter. !!

The Dinky Deer Thread - Let's see the SMALLEST one you've got???

I've been lucky and this is my smallest Coues. If we talk about Mule deer than I've killed like 10 spikes and 2 points. -
I had a severe grade 3 AC separation from a quad wreck on Mx a few years back. I needed surgery but due to not having INS and the cost could not get it done. It is my draw shoulder, anyway with quite a bit of effort and time I can pull my bow at 70lbs and throw a baseball my only 2 requirements. It still hurts occasionally and some excersises hurt and it has been 6 years. If you let it heal and take it,easy you will be ok in Sept.

What bothers me is that I have to put all my family in with different cards because I once had a bank deny one of the 2 charges for 2 different applications thinking it was a duplicate. I can't imagine if there was 5 of the same charges..

My biggest buck also was my first over 30" outside spread. 30 7/8ths to be exact.
-
This tall one was pretty good
-
All things being relatively equal I love a wide buck.

I bought my regular black 15x56s in 2006 i believe for $1600. I could probably sell them for $1200 today or a touch more almost 11 years later even after the HD's came out. I would bet the HD's do as good or better at retaining their value. If you have the money buy the HD's, if not the non HD's are very good and it gives you something to look forward to in the future. The best thing about the HD's are the eye cups can press together significantly more than the non HD's

Yes there is a difference, but it is a lot of money. I love mine.

4b can be very tough for decent bulls. Sometimes it can be good.. Getting one or two pictures of great bulls is the downfall of many 4b hunters. Those bulls are usually long gone when Sept. comes. High expectations usually turn sour after a few days of little to no elk and no bugeling. That being said it can be done...keep a positive attitude after the first few days..

My 16 yr old son is in with only 5 points.

When back pack hunting I use the rear rifle rest on my Outdoorsman's tripod set up. It works great. When weight isn't as much as an issue I've been happy with a large tripod and the TriClawps. I've shot well with each. I have a poor time finding a place to shoot prone in Coues country. My buddy Scott with my rifle and outdoorsman set up a few years ago.

If you hunt 3c I'll share my cams and knowledge of the unit. I've helped kill a lot of solid bulls.
