Pics from taxi! Very pleased!
WHT_MTNMAN replied to shanehamblin's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
That is awesome if he is 10 yrs old!!! Great buck -
I didn't draw an early bull tag again, so all my days consisted of scouting for others. Since I live and work in the middle of Elk country I get to see bulls on a daily basis. When I don't have a tag myself I glass from afar and take a few pictures or video and head on into work. This year I was able to help out on a few hunts, had a great time and got some decent video and pictures. Most of these pictures are screen shots from video. sorry for quality. same bull hardhorned 8 miles away from velvet picture I posted this one before.

A good friend of mine had the rifle tag. After not seeing many 370+ bulls and passing quite a few the first couple of days he shot this bull. This was a neat story, we had passed a few bulls throughout the morning, changed location, found and passed a few more. About 11am I told him I had seen some good activity in a certain spot that usually holds good bulls. As we parked and started to slip down the canyon, we both look over and can see an elk bedded on the pine covered slope. We spent the next 5 minutes trying to judge him and decide if he was a shooter. I told him it was a 350+ bull but I couldn't tell him how much bigger. Due to family, work etc... and lack of giant bulls scouted he decided to shoot the bull. The bull stood up, I let out a cow call, he turned broadside and one shot through both lungs and he had his first bull. Darell waited a long time to be able to tag his first bull. He was overcome with emotion and it was an absolute awesome experience to share this with not only a great person, but a good friend that I've played ball with, hunted with etc... for so many years. Couple more scouting pics. Pics don't show the mass on this bull. He had 11 3/8 and 10+ measurements on his first mass measurement. 19+ and 20+ thirds..... Great bull !!

In the interest of Full-Disclosure and of being rebuked by Str8shot please bear with me as I try to sell my 2010 Bowtech Destroyer This bow has everything, sights, arrows, even laser pointing... I bought it new from my Bishop (I'm LDS) (again I'm trying to disclose everything) I'm only wanting $50 more than I bought it and I promised to give it to the fast offering fund in the church. It has exactly 33 scuff marks, 22 scratches and 6 areas of fraying on the string. It has killed at least 7 big game animals (maybe one wounded, no blood etc...) I used it as my walking stick a time or two, a little dirt in the riser etc... Almost brand new. Please call or text and I'll send some pictures after I dig it out of the closet, It may take a few days be patient, I'll get to it as soon as possible. Thanks for looking and if you want to offer more than I bought it for that is up to you and I would be happy to take it. Have a great day. PS. Str8shot all in jest...

WHT_MTNMAN replied to Couestracker's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
What an awesome time last time for you!!! We are headed down there again, this year on a new ranch. I hope it turns out well. Good luck -
Nice Job DB... Looks like great country and awesome buck!!

It really was a good shot just quartered toward slightly and came out further back than we would have liked. Complete pass through... Its been a good season so far. Great times with new and old friends. Tory is truly an awesome guy and hunter. I've never seen someone put so much time into learning a unit. He learned more in 8 months than I have my 36 years of life and most of it living here. Great job on a super bull Tory!!!

In reality I didn't do too much on this hunt except scout/film and show up. I had a great time meeting some new guys and relaying some info. I got the call on my way to work that Tory had shot a great palmated bull, in a spot right off the Highway that I had mentioned to him. It looks like an almost perfect shot, Notice the shot and blood. The bull stayed alive for almost 8 hours, not wanting to push and lose the bull, Tory opted to wait. When I got there we decided we had enough eyes to keep track while he made the last stalk. Here is some video and final pictures. I apologize for music, I just added some video that youtube had just to keep my voice to myself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycfGsK6lRYM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gMupGuQPBI Lots of mass and character. Congrats Tory on an awesome AZ bull

I agree with kwp and Shane, Just because they say unit 1 is being managed under alternative elk hunting objectives doesn't mean it is.

Seldom- read my other post...big bulls dont get called in most of the time because of what you posted. I have elk in my yard almost everynight year round. I know what I'm talking about. Actually there are far more people that don't know what they are doing than do....

Nice job Casey, Way to get it done. -
We had a great weekend. My son and I had the great opportunity to spend it in the mountains of UT. I had two close encounters with the buck I was chasing and couldn't quite get it done. My son was able to harvest his first buck at 34 yards.
