There has been some word (fairly reliable) that the forests will be closed on Thursday. I hope we get moisture soon.

Did you get drawn for anything?

They are usually pretty good about keeping the Rez open. They usually don't have fire restrictions either, BUT If I was traveling up from the valley I would call for sure. My bet is the only reason they were asking people to leave was due to danger with the fire, I doubt it will be a long term restriction.

I give him slightly more on G2's and beams than Becker and slightly less on mass. 105 and I figured I was conservative. Does not look like a 110 buck to me, but I would bet he is over 105... But as said above, if I liked him I would shoot him and not care too much about the score.

A shooter for sure, I see 105+ easy..

We were on the far eastern side of KS so most likely all Eastern even though there may be hybrids in the area.

Doesn't just look like a Coyote.....it IS a coyote -
Well ever since I started my archery Coues quest almost 10 years ago I've held firm in my belief that an archery Coues spot and stalk is one of, if not the hardest feat to accomplish as a bow hunter. I've had the pleasure of shooting 4 archery Coues deer bucks all spot and stalk and decided to let my arrow fly at 10am on opening morning of 2014. I may never get a giant buck with my bow because I keep killing the 80-90 inch ones but so be it. Here is my 2014 buck. I packed him out myself so sorry about the poor pictures. One shot through both shoulders with the Ulmer Edge.

Should I switch to a drop away?
WHT_MTNMAN replied to jaymzth007's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
Just when you've spent the entire day getting close to your animal the WB rips off a fletch leaving an arrow doing circles...ask me how I know...I would rather trust a drop away than anything touching my arrow at the moment of truth...too many times I've seen twigs leaves etc....get stuck in a WB... -
Anyone recognize this tree stand and Camera?

I agree sjvcon- I usually go out of my way to avoid conflict in the woods, I hunt because I love it, hence one of the reasons I don't guide, my experience is that the ones that "claim" spots, or have disregard for fellow hunters are the ones that have a financial motive, or ego motives. I've only walked by one person that beat me to a spot, and it was because I had invited a group of "friends" (that hadn't had luck for 3 days) into an area and 2 good bucks were killed in back to back days. I asked that if they would please respect a spot that they were shown. Well of course opening day of the next year, here was one of the "friends" and a few other guys hunting that exact spot. I was in the wrong to walk past them, but I was mad enough that common sense went out the window. . Funny thing is, they took 11-13 shots at a little dink deer and gut shot it, recovered it and left, and later that afternoon we killed a 112 buck. Respect for keeping the forests clean, respect for leaving others property alone, respect for spots shown to you by others, respect for women and children and respect for other human beings in general are eroding along with the entire morals of our great country. -
Nice video...great ram Shane

I owned the Jim white head until I got the outdooramans head...outdoorsman head is significantly better...I also hate any type of pistol grip.

Our Bighorn Sheep Slaughter Made Fox News

Problem is that it is a huge conflict of issue that said G &F employee is still employed with same company that he sued for 100k. I'm all for constitutional rights but that doesn't set well with me... Ok carry on I know I strayed from topic but I don't like jcubed defending the wrong in this situation. -
I shot them for a while and they are one of my favorite heads. I never got the solid head to shoot well...I started shooting the vented vpa's with better luck. Very picky to your form and I believe not good with high speed bows. That's my experience.
