    Primer dofferences

It would really surprise me if primers caused a 1moa shift. load both and compare. any chance you switched powder lots?

    Seating depth

My only staring point is either 0.030” off the lands or max Mag length. I’ve never adhered to the 1 caliber rule.

    Seating depth

The rule of thumb is on caliber diameter of case neck contact. Personally I think this is BS I've had under 0.15" in a 6.5x55 (.264" dia) and sub, sub moa. asl long at the concentricity is OK they will shoot OK. They did seem a little fragile though so I switched to Barnes monos which like a jump.. Just my opinion and experiences, PS if the one caliber of neck contact was valid the 300 Win Mag would suck....
  7. Yes they do have a guarantee. You almost have to anymore in today’s marketing. I believe their sub moa is with their ammo. I’ve never had a Wheatherby that wasn’t a good shooter. is “sub moa” accurate enough anymore?
  8. Increasing the jump to the lands is not necessarily the most accurate…
  9. Spot on. it’s surprising how few know how Weatherby gets their velocity.
  10. Your question is very broad. in general if you have similar construction and similar profile the psi will be fairly close. L Cazador is spot on in it comments about psi increasing and the ogive approaches contact with the lands. There are also a whole bunch of factors than can change your psi: different powder lots, different brass weight, ambient conditions, etc. you need to be more specific in your test parameters.
  11. In Excellent condition. I just never use it. I almost always use a Dual mount with a Binocular/Spotting Scope combo or a BTX and they are just too heavy for this head. This is nearly $500 dollars new after tax: Now $300 plus S&H. This is a heck of a deal. If it doesn’t sell for $300 I’ll keep it until the fall and try again Mike 928.607.6327. Flagstaff
  12. Recently serviced by Swarovski. They have all new glass and rubber and an Outdoirsmans stud installed. Virtually new. From Outdoirsmans after tax these are around $3250 therefore $2250 is an outstanding deal. call or text, Mike 928.607.6327

    Duwane Adams ?

Well I have to say this has been an interesting 13 pages of reading. Some of those early comments sure didn’t age well. I know I’d rather be friends with Duane then some of the people who post on here.

    Begara vs. Christensen

FYI I bought 2 CA 6.5 PRCs last year both shoot Hornady factory well under 1 moa. No break in, no special dies.
  16. Brand new from Swarovski dealer STX: $2125 95mm:$ 1900 If bought together $3850. in Flagstaff but can meet in Phoenix this weekend. Mike 928.607.6327
  17. Primers are just another variable to play with. I often try standard primers in my large capacity case (e.g. 300 Weatherby), and Mag primers in small capacity cases. Just a tool to fine tune.

    Leupold Problem..Maybe

I have lots of Leupold scopes. My Turret scopes are a couple of VX3's, many VX6's, several VX5's, and a Mark 5. I guess I've been lucky but I've never had a tracking problem. I like them for their cost and weight.

    Perfect Coues Rifle

I know for a fact with a light rifle I am the weakest link!

    Perfect Coues Rifle

I have a 5lb 4 oz rifle that shoots under 1/2”. This rifle can do it. Did you mean you say you’d like to see the shooter who can run 1000yds with a sub 6 lb rifle?

    Perfect Coues Rifle

Dang my 7 STW shoots 160s at 3200 fps. I’m zeroed at 300 yards. It drops about 2 feet at 500 yards. You must be shooting a lot faster or at a higher elevation then I am.

What is the highest velocity caliber?

Its easy to make an argument for a high BC bullets driven as fast as you can for long range shooting. This will reduce both the vertical (drop due to gravity) and horizontal (wind drift) dispersion at long distances.
