SOLD For Sale Swarovski HD 65mm Dual Spotters (big eyes)
MMACFIVE replied to Sky Islands's topic in Classified Ads
its unbelievable these haven't sold. Try again in September....free bump for such a good deal. -
WOW, JUST WOW
-
If you were to walk out of Outdoorsmans today with this setup you would have dropped almost $6900. It really doesn’t matter what he paid for it. It’s replacement cost that drives value with Swaro.

OK, that's f'ing funny

SOLD For Sale Swarovski HD 65mm Dual Spotters (big eyes)
MMACFIVE replied to Sky Islands's topic in Classified Ads
I tried to compare the two but with a friends but adjusting the inner pupil distance was too big of a PIA so it didn’t work out. remember the BTX /115 is around 7-3/4 lbs and the twin Set up about 6-1/2. And the BTX/115 has equivalent light gathering of about an 80mm scope. the ATS65/20-50 HD is selling for about $2675 each at Outdoirsmans right now. After tax they are over $2900 each so that’s $5800 plus the $500 bracket….this is one heck of a deal. -

your are correct. I miss typed 85mm The 115 comes close to the Kowa big eyes 82mm. I think the Kowas are slightly better but the BTX 115 is far more convenient. BTW the exit pupil of the 95 and 85 are very close because of the 30 vs 35 power. I prefer the 85mm with the BTW -

That's not true.....its a 1.7x....30 goes to 51 and 35 goes to 60....and you lose another 1.5 stops of light. But its such a PIA I almost never use mine. -

Remember the light is split with the BTX.. A BTX with the 85mm gathers about the same about of light as a 65mm spotting scope. Also the BTX is either a fixed 30, or 35 power depending on the objective used. These have the ability to glass wide at 20x then close one eye and evaluate at 50x when needed. -
You might have a typo: $280 for primers?
-
Dang. Apparently I should have invested more in primers then gold and silver. free bump!
-
Apparently this has changed within the last 2 years…the last time I shipped a gun from UPS.
-
As of today the BTX / 85 combo msrp is over $5500
-
Wow, this is a heck of a deal. Swaro has increase the 15’s by $200 for 2023. There is NFW I’d sell mine for $1800. good luck.
-
I definitely could be wrong but I think the only difference between the Super RedHawk and RedHawk is the integral scope rings. There isn’t a weight difference I know of?
-
Wow, Even before Swarovski’s 7% end of year increase that’s a heck of a deal. good luck.

300 wsm load development

The Hornady OAL gauge may have some faults, as do all the other methods, but it is repeatable and convenient. I use it almost exclusively now and am very happy with it. It gives me a datum to work with. -

You must of missed the part about Hornady bullets. Which is the OPs choice. -

I won’t be back in AZ until after the new year. I definitely have 30-30 I’d trade then if nothing else comes through for you. -

This podcast from Hornady about load development is worth listening to. Some of the take always are neither a ladder test or 3/5 shot OCW groups come close to defining a loads capability. For standard case size 1 grain power increments are adequate vs the .1/.3 gr most of us use. And with their bullets seat them 0.025 - 0.030” off the lands and forget you have a seating depth adjustment abilities. Of course there a lot more in nearly an 1-1/2 hr podcast but these takeaways spur plenty of controversy. https://youtu.be/QwumAGRmz2I -

You should listen to the pod cast. It’s very good and will challenge a lot of our previous assumptions. They are not saying 0.030” off for liability. They saying that seating depth has virtually zero affect and just set it 0.030” off and forget ever adjusting it for their bullets. You really have to have an open mind about all of your previous knowledge when you listen to it. -

I agree with finding a low SD. The Hornady podcast I posted claims seating depth has almost zero affect on group size with their bullets. They say set them 20-30 thou off and forget it. -
Good Hornady Podcast that will challenge you
