does anyone know what the difference is between the vortex talon vs. viper in 10 x 42. talon's have an open bridge but all the rest seems the same... vipers HD Lens Elements Dielectric Prism Coatings XR Lens Coatings Phase Correction Waterproof Fogproof Rubber Armor Twist Eyecups Tripod Adaptable talons HD Lens Elements Dielectric Prism Coatings XR Lens Coatings Phase Correction Waterproof Fogproof Rubber Armor Twist Eyecups Tripod Adaptable looks like the talons are a tad heavier but are a little cheaper. any input would be appreciated. thanks, James

They generally do not stock big lake with catchables but just fingerlings so almost all the fish are holdovers. +1 the brook are a blast.... the said there was a partial winter kill on creasant lake due to lack of oxygen. a couple years back we slayed em on gold panther martins with orange bead and buck tail in 1/4 oz. we caught a few at 16 in and none were under 14 in. big lake has some nice brook too... north west side in the back of the cove. man I could go for a big lake trip! James

not true... there are different districts... red rock district, mogollon district, mormon lakes district, and peaks district. You can call the office and get the # to the LEO's that work each districts. 1 guy even gave me some tips on where he's been seeing yotes! The G$F part may be true, but I think this summer will tell the tale on how they will enforce or not. last weekend we ended up on a closed road and there was a vehicle w/ tailor back in there, mind you he could have been cutting wood but I never heard a saw going. I wish they would actually close some of those roads for real... it would make some of those tanks way better. nothing like following the rules and some jack wagon comes riding up after you humped it in a mile or more! without the map they are confusing but with it and a little time out and about it becomes a little easier to know where you are... the 30ft rule can suck it though! James

nice, already warm enough for a midday swim! was 69 deg on easter sunday. the area I was in 23 the leaves and kindling on the ground were pretty darn dry. still moist under the top layer but just barely. I could see a few tracks in the thick oak leaves where they were draggin their feet. hung a camera on a trail so we'll see. James
