looks like firstcoueswas80 and Elkhunter1 is the only ones who ate it cowboy style (steaks) everyone else had to cover up the funky flavor with chorizo or something to take the gamey flavor away! really strong flavor... hard to choke it down without all the added flavors. DB's recuipe sounds awesome though! I did a red chilli recipe and they loved it here at work but I'd rather eat a coues! James

that is a pretty sweet looking fox... never seen 1 that color. I did see a pair of red fox just before forest lakes on the 260.... what an awesome site... it was on a snow covered highway January 1994, never will forget that! James

Wow. Thats good to know about the 700. I have been using my trusty 700 for years without any problems. Even though I am very safety concious, I will have to keep that in mind. both incidents I was around the guns safety had to be switched off to open the bolt.... my 700 does not... not that it can't happen though. I've been with 2 different people that had this happen... 1 was a new savage ( I mean brand new ) and the other was an old remington.. the guy with the savage had heard my story about the other guys mishap and had it in his head to always be conscience about the barrel and where it is pointed. ( which should always be the case!) the guy with the remington had it pointed in the back of my Expedition while I was on the passenger rear door putting mine in the case unloaded.... click of the safety and BOOM! I was like WTH! he was white as a ghost!!! my ears almost exploded, it was loud! shot a hole in the back of my suv.. bullet went through the driver side rear near the gas tank neck and through the rear door and stopped just before coming out of the b post. I pray this kid is ok! Hard lesson for sure.. James -
not sure... camera is pretty quiet..... there was fresh fox sign everywhere but I doubt she would be afraid of a little fox. I took my bow and caller and made 3 stands.... called in a coyote before I hiked to my camera... she wouldn't stop for a shot. zoomed by me at 10 yds. I didn't see her coming cause I was on a flat and she was howling from the bottom bad set up... made another stand by my camera... played lucky bird for ten minutes... it was pretty windy. switched to juvenile red fox distress and had a fox come flying in from about 150yds... shut the caller down and she just stopped for a split second and started circling... 65 yds.. lip squeeked and she wasn't having any of that.. should have left it playin... was fun anyhow. shot gun would have smoked em both. oh well. my wife showed me a video yesterday of a herd of elk in Washington state that has hoof rot. pretty sad..... also looked up an article and it seams to be spreading with no reason for cause or solutions. here is the video link and article link. http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2012/nov/04/outdoorsmen-see-rise-in-elk-hoof-rot/ James

I've been eating Arizona Brand Gunslinger for 20 years, love it!! went to the factory in Mesa on broadway and almaschoolish where they make it just to buy a t-shirt. that was about 1994. the guys here at work make the chilitepin hot sauce... pretty simple. hand full of those little fire crackers... dried and a couple tomatoes and some chopped garlic and a squeeze of lime and dash of salt in a food processor or blender and if it's too hot add another tomato. try different sounds........ follow what rcdinaz and twigsnapper said! your set up is way more important than the sound. when it comes to educated coyotes they will ALWAYS come in down wind or at least circle to the down wind side. around the houses try chicken in distress and house cat distress. for the chicken distress take a jack rabbit closed reed and say into the call " tuck tuck tuck tacaw" make it sound like a chicken... play around with that and then add a little hurt to it... give it that "in distress" sound. for the house cat get a digital version..... you will find that a call over used will only trick the uneducated dogs.... so if everyone is using rabbit rabbit rabbit, you need to use something else. bird sounds seem to be the craze and work really well for me in the cedars/junipers. volume of the call is important too. start out really soft. when you get to your spot give it 5 minutes or so to let the area come back to life, birds will tell you when it's calm. good luck and keep us posted on how you do! if you were not allowed there would be notes under the predators section that says so, but there isn't any such note. If I remember correctly there were stipulations under squirrel hunting there was something about not hunting in units with ongoing elk hunts but that is long gone. James
