i just picked mine up, it's been out for 5 weeks and the bat life still said 60% after 2 weeks it took over 200 pictures mostly of wind so i put it at 2 shot burst 5 min delay for fear of filling up card/ killing bat checked 1 week later over 100 pics mostly wind another week more of the same. after 5 weeks and only using 40% of bat life i was very happy although trigger time seemed a little slow after getting too many predators i decided to move it. my older cam wich takes 6 volt bat only lasts about 6 weeks depending on the cold weather james

WT Buck Water Use and Summer Activity
JLW replied to CouesPursuit's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
although i've only sat water a couple of times; mostly because i get tired and fall asleep; we see alot of whitetail drinking late morning 9- 11am. my brother-inlaw saw 9 bucks opening morning last year. missed a nice 3x and his hunting partner also missed a decent buck. the following weekend produced only does. i think the pressure has alot to do with where they drink but with my limited experience we see alot of coues late morning. james -
cool photo! that looks pretty aggressive. the color in my photo doesn't really show how bright the yellowish green was your photo seems more tan than yellow. maybe my monitor yours look more like what my dad called bull snake maybe 1 is a male 1 is female. i think wikipedia says bull snakes are a subspecies of the gopher snake..? thanks for sharing your pic

I get what you saying but that is the marketing world. I don't go out of my way to buy a product just because someone endorses it, I look at product reviews because you guys in the field are the ones to put it to the test. like when I was a kid I had a Nolan Ryan baseball glove... had to have it because he was the best in my eyes. I don't do that now but I'm sure some do. as you were saying everything is endorsed and has someones name on it from bath towels to gatorade and all in between if companies can pursuade just a small % of the consumers with a celeb then it is worth it for them and we take the hit in our wallet alot of stores have "storebrand" products wich are made by the same companies with the stores name on it. bass pro has a couple of bows made by diamond/bowtech... at a little cheaper cost. when it is the same product with a fancy logo and it ads 15% or more to the product cost I tend to shy away from that but I think some people still have the little kid screaming inside saying I gotta have that! Marketing is a huge business....especially when you look at how much $ in endorsments Tiger Woods lost some $30 mil a year!!!!!!!!!!!! my $.02 james when it comes to hunting I envy those who are lucky enough to do what we are pationate about for a living!

kitty doesn't look in a big hurry. i don't think the young ones smell like the grown ups. i've seen the momma try to lure me away several hundred yards while the little one laid down in the tall grass and disappeared. always enjoy wildlife photos, thanks for sharing! james

I dont know why you have to bag on everyone who puts up cameras, Maybe some people just enjoy it . I watch your posts and It seems like you are always wanting to get people worked up. (" hunters being responsible is a joke") . Those sound like liberal anti- hunter words coming from mr str8shot. We all know putting out cameras is a risk ,but what do you do? Think someone here needs to go get EDUMACATED .... you truly must not know how to read in context ... The original post had strong words blaming the loss on hunters... And what you quote from my reply is liberal anti hunters??? read it again and then again ... and Say it is liberal anti hunting .... My statement is defending hunters as not being the only possible culprits not an attack on hunters... but it is OK, being an A S S is something You and the original poster have in common for ASSuming things ( i am sure you know the saying) .... You have a problem with a hunter who is not in favor of trail cams, then good for you ( and it is not so much the cams as the baiting that goes along with cams I am against) ... It shows how pathetic you are labeling people without having a clue about them .... and for your last question ....No 1 .. I trust no one #2 scout with my own two feet , eyes and brain # 3... I go hunting ..... As far as Trail cams and BAIT I Leave them where they belong on the shelf at Bass Pro ... and this is a choice every hunter can make , but I don't want to hear crying when you choose to try to make your hunt easier always looking for the biggest and lose Cams in the process .... p.s. I know it is educated... and to try to compare something that fits in your hand that is hanging out in the forest for months at a time to a truck that is there for a day also shows the lack of brains in the bunch .... In reading the original post I would have to agree that it was a hunter, I don't see hikers carrying around bags of salt in the woods. Then to place it over another salt is kind of shity. The point you make on salt is strictly a prefrence of yours. Baiting IS legal except for bears. Putting out salt, hanging a tree stand/trail camera over it doesn't mean a animal will be harvested. I don't know about everybody elses experiences but I've had animals on camera and come hunting season they dissappear. If you care nothing about trail cams and baiting/salt why are you in the trail cam section of the forums? i agree with jeffcros. obviously it was a hunter. i have 2 cameras out i lock them just to "keep honest people honest" but i know there is a chance for them to be stolen.... i would still be upset if someone STOLE them. As my dad always said "people work hard for the things they have" to have a thief steal it is a shame! most of the time i do not hunt where i have hung my cameras but just enjoy the photos i get. just because someone has a camera in the forest on public land does not mean it's ok to take something that is not yours just because it's on public land! a thief is a thief is a thief. if str8shot had his blind stolen i'm sure he would be upset. that would be no different, your property is your property no matter where it is! james
