That is super interesting.

There’s not that many 350+ bulls out there on public land. I would believe that several elk hunt units do not contain any 350 bulls.
-
And only a couple of them hold mature bulls.
-
This is actually true with this guy. He publicly posts good hunting spots on the interwebs, and then they get blown up.

Partly I just want to hear what others opinions are on this subject. I’m not sure what to think about this. Maybe this is what everyone does. I don’t know. I’m an DIY only guy.

I don’t know, it just doesn’t seem right. Maybe it’s not a huge deal, it seems like every where we went there was out of state boys who paid this guy money for these spots. And then when we found out his story about him doubling up on gps pin sales, it just seemed so wrong. my boy is only 17, he does grunt work for several different outfits, in exchange for learning the trade.

He works with a guide, but on this hunt we had the tag, and were just hunting.

Fellas paid $1500 for those gps pins. At least that’s what they told my son.

Yeah, it hasn’t set well with some locals. I think I’m going to work on a law that says a guide has to accompany his client. Selling gps pins just seems so unethical.

I spoke with them, they are actually my neighbors. They are getting out of the biz, and will just finish up what they have. Apparently, a lot of people owe them deposits, and they won't finish anything until they have at least that.

I’ve been drawing these late archery bull tags now and then for a while. I’m just tired of wearing myself out. I’m strongly considering just putting in for rifle hunts. It would be nice to just hear bang, then flop for a change. Well, my oldest son and I both drew this year. I wound up letting him do most of the stalking. We would glass in the morning, and try to get on them. We located some of the biggest bulls I’ve ever seen. Most of them were located in completely unstalkable locations. I thought my son was gonna seal the deal a few times, but he always got discovered at the last second right before a shot opportunity. He never did connect, but time spent with my son can’t be replaced. On our way home from work, my wife saw a bull she thought I could get to. She’s be praying that God would give me a nice bull on this hunt. I’d seen a few bulls on my commute, including some real studs, but never had time to go after them on days I had to work. But the hunt was drawing to a close, and this bull was low hanging fruit. Even after a terrible shot, I got it done. My wife’s prayers were answered! Also, my youngest son filled his first youth tag and got an elk. IMG_3284.mov

I’m just over here getting trolled like a fish, lol

Haha. Banter aside, I do wish you would get on board with us, for the sake of hunting in general. IMO, it’s kind of an all or none battle. I don’t personally hound hunt, nor do I have hounds. I have never taken an animal with dogs. My son does… I do think it’s a battle we need to stick together on. im not sure if you legit hunt or not, or if you’re just troll. But if you do hunt, I want you to continue that tradition. Trapping was the first domino, hounds, bears and lions will be next. Then we’ll have nothing left but soy lattes!😜

Careful not to over indulge, you still want that fine figure so you can squeeze into those skinny jeans.

I hear you.
