sometimes you have to wait out the moon phase. if they're coming in at night, make sure you don't get your scent in there and stink it up. play the moon and play the wind, and it will happen.

Yea sorry but I don't think lapdogs and peeing on carpet apply here at all. As incredible and willing as those dogs are, it's good way to get one injured or killed. That's not what a dog is for, even a hunting dog. ever so politely, i couldn't disagree more, lol the lapdog application, is simply, these retrievers have purpose, and i love to see that in an animal. yorkies, on the other hand, pee on the carpet, and serve no real purpose, other than say companionship, which i guess is some sort of purpse to a degree. But to see a dog with heroic dedication like that warms my heart, and gives me courage. Last week i sat down with my kids and watched "Where the Red Fern Grows", the old one. I grew up in the city, but when i watched that movie as a kid, it changed my life, and i became a hunter. hope you never go on a lion or bear hunt with hounds, it can get pretty brutal. i have a dog, and while it doesn't hunt, it's singular purpose in life is to lay down it's life for my wife and kids, in the event of an intruder, so i have time to grab my shotgun. but, to each their own.

that's what a dog is for. i get so tired of seeing these yorkies and and lapdogs that serve no purpose, and get treated better than people. i mean, if i came over and peed on your carpet and pooped on your couch, how long would you let me stay?

i went to azosa's lecture in payson a couple months back and this was the topic of the lecture. absolutely fascinating evidence out there.

in april my grandmother died, and i had to fly into nashville for her funeral, with a layover in LA. After a 3.something aftershock earthquake in LA, this really buff dude walked through the terminal and sat a couple seats from me with his wife. the dude next to me immediately became starstruck and started to chat with the guy, who was obviously being gracious and trying not to look annoyed. then the dude next to me says, that's Rich Froning. I'm like, "i don't care care how rich he is." He's like, no he's the crossfit world champ. I said, what's crossfit? He tried to explain, but i didn't get it. So Rich and his wife sat three seats in front of me, all the way to nashville. Turns out he lives in a town that was 10 miles from grandmas. So i had to look up crossfit. Then i started doing "murph" styled workouts. I really enjoy it, they are easy on the body. I don't like squats, they are hard on my knees, so i changed them up to lunges. But i've never felt better or been stronger. I'm wouldn't pay 25 cents a month to work out in a crossfit gym, but i'll do it in my garage all day long. i do still lift weights, but not much. just some military presses and curls. everything else is bodyweight only.

awesome! glad it went to a diy youth hunter! doesn't get any better than that, now does it?

all you need is here. chop chop. seems to me the gutless method leaves the filet and the rib meat behind? correct me if i'm wrong? the filet is the best cut on any animal and you can't get to it gutless.

thanks for the stands olmos! was a pleasure meeting you, best of luck this season!

my feeling is the farther south you go, the thinner the heard. but they are down there. had the tag last year, saw plenty of elk in the desert. didn't get the big boy i was after but i did fill the freezer. it was a great hunt, one of the funnest i've ever done. the bigger bulls that i heard got taken last year came from higher elevations, but i know there were some big boys down low, too.

i "wish" it were illegal to pay someone to guide for you.... i also" wish" it were illegal to "lease" hunting property back east... but we all don't get what we wish for. Truth is, i really don't care what the guides do as long as it doesn't diminish my privilege (sp?) to hunt.

Let's put it this way, there's a lot of things i could buy from sportsman's guide, but i've never shopped there and never will. I only support local people and businesses in the sporting goods industry. I buy all of my new equipment from Jeremy Ulmer at Chasin' a Dream Outfitters, Why? because he's part of the local economy, and when i need stuff he's there for me. I also buy stuff from the classifieds here. why? because it helps the locals who need cash. I have no problem with that. In fact, i'll even pay a little extra for that. It's not like he's gouging here. I've looked at the prices of a lot of treestands on line, and 40 to 50 is a common price for this type of stand. So, it looks like i'm paying 3 cents more than sportsmans guide, i'm still getting it delivered to payson, and i'm helping out a fellow CWT'er. I can live with that.
-
i'm buying one just to spite you. that was a really classless move. i'd rather pay double from a local cwt member so he can make money and pay his bills than save a buck on some internet closeout junk site. in fact, i'm thinking of buying two of them.

how do they not make 13b? i'll be putting in for 13b for the next.....however long it takes me to get the late rifle tag. i'm sitting at 6 points, if i get hunters safety this year i'll have 7. if you find a map, let me know. I should start studying. when i hit 10 points i'll stop hunting archery whitetails in january, unless it's B&C material, and start waiting on the draw.

Looking for a Vineyard or Winery Near Payson to ShowLow area--Crawfish Festival
bojangles replied to Adicted's topic in The Campfire
tough call on the wardrobe for that daytrip maybe you could pair your sperry topsiders with a wife beater. -
i was gonna write this epic post, but TJ nailed it. that said, i would never sit someone else's blind or stand, nor would i ever remove their blind from the woods, even if it was just a popup blind. how selfish would that be?

Facebook is refusing to remove the "kill kendall jones" page. so do your duty and troll the page. share this article, it's a great read, with every fb group you know, and online as much as you can. http://www.realtree.com/big-game-hunting/articles/on-kendall-jones-and-hunting-s-real-enemies

Cool. i'll probably watch that one day. Talked to many people who have, and they seemed to enjoy it. I go to AZOSA meeting that discess such topics, in further detail and more specifics. Thanks! Monday i went to hear an MD professor speak, before that it was a state geologist, before that it was a professional biologist for the zoo's in phoenix; they all discussed problematic things w/ evolution. Nye/ and Ham are TV celebrity scientist, who are interesting; but AZOSA brings real scientist who are currently working in the forefront of science and technology to speak on such issues. You'd be surprised how many real scientists there are who don't believe in evolution. I would encourage you to go to an AZOSA meetings, even if you don't agree, they are so fascinating. But i don't hang my hat on science, it always changes. I'm looking for something that is more solid. What "they" dont talk about is all the byproducts of science, to me, it seems like science is busy fixing the problems it has caused. Last week on Yahoo news there was an article that linked childhood shots directly with autism, ADHD, and other mental illnesses. So polio is down, but autism is up. Hooray, things like malaria and yellow fever are rare, but cancer and dementia are prolific and common. We have cell phones, but air polution is bad. Are rivers and streams and woods are in danger, but i have gps. Alzheimers. Heart disease. It goes on. Sceince fixes one and creates 5 more problems. I'm not knocking science, I'm just not worshipping it. There comes a day when science will fail you. But i have found that Jesus never fail. So still, you know, I can't force anyone to believe. I wouldn't even try. But like i said, i'm a Baptist. Baptists founded the colony of Rhode Island in the New World, for the express purpose of having a colony where you didn't have to participate in religious practices to live there, unlike the more popular Massachusettes and Virginia. And i still hold to that. The choice to believe or not to believe is entirely up to you.

The great thing about science is, it's true whether you believe in it or not. lol, the other funny thing about science is that it always changes. just when they tell you know have it down, somebody else comes up with a new theory and debunks the old one. i just can't come to grips that there is no God, and what's more, I know for sure there is a devil. There is so much pure and unadulterated evil in the world it's crazy. You don't have to look far to see the devil. And if there is a devil, there better be a God out there somewhere.
